25.01.2022 ANNOYING COUGH? NEW RESEARCH SUGGESTS HONEY MIGHT BE THE BEST MEDICINE . Researchers in Britain have finally proven what grandma always told you - take a ...spoonful of honey if you have a cough or sore throat. Online journal, BMJ Evidence Based Medicine, which published its findings this week, also says honey is a suitable alternative to antibiotics. Two of the studies showed symptoms lasted one to two days fewer treated with honey. Sydney's University of Technology microbiologist Dr Nural Cokcetin told Breakfast presenter, Rob Blackmore honey was "particularly useful when you have a sore throat". "It is effective because honey is anti-microbial and it is also anti-inflammatory." Dr Cokcetin said he best way to take honey was a "small spoonful, about 15 grams taken directly or in tepid water".

09.01.2022 Medicinal properties of Yarrow are extensive, soothing irritated skin, wound healing to name but a few. While on medication in 2018 Yarrow gave me the confidence I could continue to garden; as any cut bleeds more freely when on blood thinning medication. Applying sprigs of Yarrow direct disinfects the cut and importantly helps coagulate the blood. A very useful herb to have in your garden.
