24.01.2022 Pro-Tip - your low bar may not be that low. Beginners and even intermediates sometimes think the low bar is on their rear delts - but its really just one inch further back than highbar. If you are going to low bar - you may aswell low bar. Get someone to take a photo - but stretch your boob meat a lot first (thats a technical term). Pec major and pec minor need to be really open. If you have rolled forward shoulders from working on a computer all day - you may need to stretch even more than other people. One really easy way to open this area up is just to lie on a foam roller with it vertical up your spine for 20 minutes - and really let the area open up. Turn on a podcast and chill. It takes ages for that old scar tissue to feel looser (this may kinda hurt if you are really tight)
23.01.2022 @unleash_the_weist with 428kgs At 140kg. WTF. He's 25 years old, and he pulled this at his local meet. Imagine rocking up and looking at the last attempts, you write 240kg and this dude writes 428kg

21.01.2022 Pro-Tip - Drink water. When its cold, you don't feel dehydrated or thirsty - but you are still losing performance by not rehydrating. Its not till your top set when your lat cramps benching that you feel it, and the world falls apart. Easily the easiest way to manage this is to get a 750ml bottle and make sure you finish before the end of the session (this is literally the only way we remember)
21.01.2022 We have two types of people contacting us 1.People bummed gyms and comps are bleak this year 2. People that believe that can get a headstart of everybody else during these times Remember, strength is truly a marathon, not a sprint. Its perfectly logical to be training for a comp in 2021. If your gym is closed, you can say its impossible to train, or you can get the equipment you can, and do what you can.... You can drop weight to go into a class below. You can fix the mobility you never work on. You can rehab your shoulders so your next bench cycle has no issues. You can work on doing your first set of 12 chin ups. You can even out your hip flexor flexibility. You can learn how to write programs. Like everything in life, try to do what a wise person would do. It would be great to look back at this time as weird but productive, not just a weird time where you gained 10kg of bodyfat.

19.01.2022 If you wake up at 4am to do cardio after only 5 hours of sleep, you’re stepping over $100 bills to pick up nickels! - Stan Efferding I doubt this applies to many of us, but lots of people are losing WAY to much sleep at night due to pre-workouts and evening sessions. Its such a modern problem, but getting sleep is something you actually have to prioritise. At the very least, capping caffeine and putting a blue light app on your phone/laptop may be the difference between gains and no gains. For the bigger of us, if you kick off blankets in the night due to over heating, a cooling pad on your bed is a game changer (this actually changed my life, just not training)
19.01.2022 More June/July pre orders ARE IN AND HEADING OUT TO CUSTOMERS! Pretty awesome surprise, ahead of the predicted 20th delivery, the second shipment arrived yesterday, including cast iron plates! Once again, our DEEPEST thanks to those who have put trust in us, feels great to be competing with the big boys and getting great equipment for our customers. Our new warehouse is running better than ever, and we are picking and packing all day and night this week. Everyone should ge...t their shipping notice by the end of the week at the very latest. As always, any dramas, give us an email and we'll get back to you ASAP. When we got a call about the shipment, we honestly thought the worst (like another delay), we never thought they would say it was showing up a few days early! We hope this is some sort of respite for Vic. Lots of crew in NSW were waiting on this one too, fearing the worst. As always, best of health to everyone, we hope you are all staying safe! Today we'll also update the website with remaining stock available (we always order a few extra of each thing to safeguard damage in shipment) See more

18.01.2022 Pro/Bro Tip. Fix shoulder pain. If you struggle to get your hand overhead, your bicep tendon feels like its on fire and your feel super inflamed in your front delt, you have an impingement. You obviously can reduce load, reduce work and thus reduce inflammation. Ice, ibuprofen and rest are the logical answer. There may be a long term fix that we can all take on. Inside your shoulder, the tendons (or bursa) are compressed against the humerus (upper arm bone) and the acromion p...rocess (see pic). This is the pain you are feeling. Degeneration of the rotator cuff tendons will cause bad movement patterns and reduced space for your tendons. Poor movement patterns and muscle imbalances also lead to impingement. Super tight muscles in the shoulder make the space small, and tendons aggravated against the acromion. John M. Kirsch, an orthopedic surgeon, published a book that has some huge fans (and some huge doubters) that says if you dead hang enough, you can increase the space between the humerus and the acromion. More space, less aggravation, more shoulder mobility. This is something weve been trying. Just hang from a pull up bar, overhand position, for 3 sets of 30 seconds each time you go to gym (use straps if you need to). Dont pack your shoulders, just relax. This is NOT medical advice, its bro advice. If you give it a go (or have tried it) let us know, were super interested Straps if you can't grip for 30 seconds - https://loadedlifting.com.au//produ/regular-pulling-straps

18.01.2022 Pro Tip Figure out one way to get tight under the bar, and perfect it. To get strong at squats, you really need to focus on the contact areas you have being your upper back and hands. If you are consistent with hand placement, how you grip the bar and where the bar sits you can incrementally improve your squat. There are three basics you can try.... 1.Elbows to hips and spread the bar (our preference) 2. Elbows to hips and pull the bar down 3. Elbows to hips and break the bar like try to curve it All three are to get you into position, and stop elbows floating (especially at max effort). If you are in a grind, and your elbows pop up, its good morning, round back or dump time none are good options. Whichever you choose, from the second you unrack, EVERYTHING should be tight. Everything coiled up, ready to descend tight. For beginners / intermediates, the best call you can have is tight. Yelling knees out when the upper body is loosey goosey rarely helps.
18.01.2022 With reviews like this who needs marketing?
17.01.2022 Pro tip - more narrow foot forward squat ( high bar or saftey bar ) are brutal on quads AND the musculature that stops you from good morning-ing weights when things get heavy. If you get pitched forward a lot, consider this as a tactic to built the lower and mid back. This was a huge issue for some of our athletes, to the extent we would have them pretend to 'throw the bar back at the spotter' - ie, actively keeping the bar over mid foot. Do not go heavy on these and pitch forward. If you have spotters, a great exercise is to squat only on or two inches from the uprights, so you can actively see when you are leaning forward.

16.01.2022 ProTip Deadlift. The king of movements and the king of sadness. With the Squat and the Bench, you generally get to at least do a negative, and some sort of push out of the hole to make you feel like all that ammonia and psyche up were worth something. The deadlift can simply sit on the floor, then proceed to break your heart. Only a lifter knows the feeling of everyone screaming up up up while you pull at a bar refusing to move, getting closer to fainting. Deads fail at b...reaking the floor (including gross round back to break floor), over the knee or at lockout. Almost all aspects of the three failures deride from a poor start speed, that puts the hips out of place to finish. Once you are at a competent level of deads, to truly get the most out of that first inch, you need to train pulling off the floor fast. You need you body to adapt and put every single muscle fibre to work. There are lots of apps to do this, and neat little products, but some good ole put your feet through the floor mentality is often enough. Say your top dead is 260 and you are aiming for 270. You CAN pull a 250 off the floor at velocity that is representative of a 270 off the floor. This is why singles, or clustered singles, are great for deads. You can actively work at tearing the bar off the floor. Touch and go reps really are not specific to big singles. Try 3 singles in a minute (3 sets of these) Then try 10 singles for the day. Most people enjoy one of those two more. For some people, 10 sets is just too much mentally and three sets of clustered singles is better. At the end of the day, practice breaking the floor hard in perfect form, and never accept a slow off the floor dead in warmups.
16.01.2022 Lots of people ask us 'when' the correct time to try equipped lifting, and the answer is, whenever you feel like. You don't need to be able to lift X weight, you just need to be eager to learn a new skill. Most of us here jump between knees wrapped and sleeves and some of us will squat in briefs to give our hips a break (getting old right!) Its fun, its something different and if you get bored with your lifts, its fun to learn a new skill.... https://loadedlifting.com.au/collections/equipped See more

14.01.2022 The NEW SABO Deadlift Pro is now available at Loaded Lifting. https://loadedlifting.com.au/collections/sabo-shoes Heaps of new changes and improvements on this new model, the original is a big favourite of ours, but the new model has blown us away.... This is the first shoe in the SABO Pro Series. The SABO Deadlift Pro is based on several new concepts and years of research. The word "Deadlift" on the ankle strap is a bit of a misnomer because these shoes are incredible for flat shoe squats and bench press. They are also phenomenal for deadlifting of course! A true Powerlifting shoe. Available now online.
14.01.2022 Pro-Tip Comp bench has nothing to do with benching for pec hypertrophy. Its not a big deal to recognise that. Feasibly the most annoying thing in the gym is to bench, and someone tell you not to arch or its bad for your back (or its cheating). At the end of the day, its sometimes BETTER to meet in the middle and say oh yer, I am cheating range of motion, in a pressing contest, all the matters is it touches the body, so we make the body higher, I agree a larger range of mot...ion is better for chest development. A personal gripe we have is with lifters that get all aggressive and angry and yell its better for shoulder health when we all know what we are doing. Its bad for the sport not to help people understand, and creates this odd idea the powerlifters are the odd people in the corner that take too long between lifts. Anyone in a gym is a friend, we are all here with common goals. Some of the people here do a bro bench day, shoulders retracted and minimal arch, and a comp bench day. Its fine, and its actually very helpful for getting out of the hole. Some of us are actually coming back to gym with a mesocycle of minimal arch just to get swole before we work on technique. High level benching may be the most difficult of the three lifts. When you get to close to your genetic potential, you are now living in a world of perfect grove or no lift. Bro benching is so much less mentally taxing, and doing reps of fun. Both movements have there merits, and its good to involve both in your lifting.
13.01.2022 @danialzamani1 (Danial Zamani) with a pretty casual looking 325kg on his prep to break the all time world bench record The way some of these big benchers let the bar press into themselves makes no sense to us. It still pauses once sunk, so its not like some big elastic win.
13.01.2022 Lifting weights sometimes has very little to do with lifting weights. Weve all heard why do you spend so much time at gym. And the answer is, we need it, its calling us, and as much as some people hate it, thats how much we love it. This PRO-TIP has little to do with lifting, but everything to do with accepting you need gym. Cultivating the crazy is a phrase we use, and its about doubling down on the elements of your personality that make you better.... Covid has made this all so apparent to us, friends, customers and gym go-ers everywhere. This pro-tip is go back to the mindset you needed gym. Go back mentally to how good it felt to be exhausted, to run your battery dead, to sum every bit of yourself to get after a lift. It is really really easy to fall into not training. Its been happening hear in the office. Three days off in a row was a nightmare 12 months ago, somehow now it got acceptable in our heads. Somehow we all managed to fill our days with new activites, and finding the time for gym seems harder than ever. This is as much for us as it as for you guys. But this is enough. Were getting back on program. Were not skipping days. It honestly does take time to get back into the beat of training, and we will use sheer force to get ourselves back there. This is the new normal, were quitting that well get back to training when thigs are normal and accepting masks, elbow bumps and liquid chalk is life for now. We hear Melbs might be back in gym again soon, and were crossing our fingers for you guys!
13.01.2022 Pro Tip Lot of rotator cuff exercises are incredibly inefficient use of time. The primary role of the rotator cuff is to stabilise the shoulder joint (well, technically stabilization of humeral head in glenoid cavity, which means the same thing) The best way to train the rotator cuff musculature is to put yourself into positions where you need to stabilise the shoulder joint. Crazy right. A healthy back will have a developed rear delt, teres minor and not overdeveloped tr...aps/lats. Bench, squat and dead all have the shoulder in locked position and the rotator cuff is not getting trained to the extent that is desirable. Your whole body is getting super strong and your rotator cuff musculature is not getting the same accumulated stress/response. If you have ever gone a long time without doing dumbbell work, you will be super surprised that your primary movers can easily move the weight, but the whole thing feels super unstable because your stabilisation musculature is weak. The fix? Include dumbbell work. Thats really it. Just do it at multiple angles. You should always have some sort of overhead dumbbell (single arm, Arnold and standard pressing) and flat, incline and decline dumbbell should be rotated for pec work. Flyes, thumbs up laterals are also a great idea. If you have space, things like bear crawls are awesome warm-ups for bench days. If you have weak rotator cuffs, you run the risk of having a misgroved bench one day, and when you try to correct, tearing something and feeling sad for a long time. See more
13.01.2022 Look who's giving equipped a go! our own @pocketrocket_booom breaking in her squat suit. Squat suits are the 'top' level of equipped, and you really do need a team to get in and out, and to spot. Super fun once you find the groove, reasonably frustrating until you do. It might look odd to some people, but descending is far more difficult than lifting with these weights. Lots of us can't even break parallel in a suit (straps up) without 140-200 on the bar. Once you have ...the groove and the descent, the real work starts (which is hugely mental). Such a sick sport! We hope equipped makes a big comeback. Those huge weights look so epic, and it's such a different challenge. Repost from @pocketrocket_booom OH LOVE EQUIPPED LIFTING! First time in a squat suit yesterday and that was a 10min struggle hanging off the dip bar hahahh. We trained at @wgcastlereagh after the girls had there @anbnsw posing workshops. They all look amazing A lot I have to get used to and learn using a suit and I love it ! Starting off slowly with straps off , weight heavy enough to get down and hit death well trying too hahah, not too heavy that I fall haha and oh the pain (as you can see In pic ) . Did a few triples 150 kg 160kg 170kg Awesome ! Cant wait till next week Thanks bossman @teampowerelite and @loadedlifting for supporting and supplying my suits yay!!

11.01.2022 Pro-Tip train as many grips as you can before you specialise. Over under is the easiest but training it one way from day one does not give you the strongest grip. Double overhand is (obviously) the harder grip and will allow you to tax those gripping muscles. You should commit to getting a huge grip if you want a huge deadlift. Some people with the right thumbs are super strong hook grip, but if you have stubby fingers and fat thumbs, its unlikely to be super s...trong. If you are a over under person, make sure to practice both ways
10.01.2022 Whats everyone doing? Still training like comps are in the future? pivoting to some different types of training? You didn't care about comps in the first place? After the odd break, most of us are back training hard and back on a program. We're doing a small planned max out day - because we find it mentally easier to have a 'day' in the future to plan for.
10.01.2022 Still chasing the perfect home bench press? We have several arriving in a container in October along with a new model that offers a decline position. Hands down, this model bench has been a stand out favourite of ours from the start.... Super robust, doesn't move while pressing and you feel anchored to the ground. 09.01.2022 FYI - there is no 'crazy' Black Friday sale coming up on equipment, our BF sale has come and gone. We got a few people saying they held out thinking a bigger sale was coming this Friday, which we guess is a fair assumption. There is no planned BF sale on Loaded for equipment (only sale is the upcoming A7 launch/sale). 09.01.2022 @briancookpl looking pretty epic before heading back to the platform in a month. Its a mistake to believe that powerlifting can't deliver a strong physique - or to think getting lean will effect your total in a negative way. In the end - our sport is co-efficient based and finding a balance of strength to body fat is the best way to total the best score. After all these years, its almost universally agreed the idea of a dirty bulk just doesn't work, you add so much tras...h weight while building no physical or mental systems to lose that bodyfat later down the road. 03.01.2022 A7 pioneered our Soul Go Slipper back in 2017 and A7 knew we had to make something special for the lifters requesting additional side support. A7 have worked on perfecting this design over the last 2+ years and are proud to finally release it for all your lifts. This Patent Pending design incorporates a diagonal strap that meets at the top of your foot to help keep you grounded with one simple adjustment of the strap. As you tighten the one strap it will pull directly along t...he side wall and top of your foot evenly and help contain your foot to the shoe with the outward pressure for Sumo style deadlifts and other outward pressure lifts. There really is no other strap system like this on the market and the direct line to the out wall of your foot will help to stop the sliding experienced in most shoes. The base of the shoe features our Trademarked SOUL logo in a patterned arrangement that is designed specifically to grip the carpets used in competition but will also grip concrete and rubber flooring just as easily. You will also notice the increased pull tab loop for fast on off movements of your slippers. We are excited to see you pull some PRs and feel the benefits yourself. Sumo Soul Slippers feature: Grippy rubber outsole with SOUL logo Sidewall support for sumo deadlifts Adjustable diagonal strap Removable insole for an even more grounded feel Pull loop on the back of the slipper for easy heel slip on Stretchy loop for comfort feel on your heel Mesh bag for easy storage in your gym bag Patent pending design *Please review the size chart for guidance on the best fit for you.
