13.01.2022 II WHAT IS EQUITY and HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE ANY?II We get asked this question alot and it is a very valid question. Equity is the Gap between your Loan Balance and a % of your House value. You can use equity to buy another home, car, renovate invest and many more.... The easiest way to explain how to calculate equity in your home is 80% of your Home's Value minus your home loan balance. If your home is valued at $400,000 and your home loan balance is $200,000. 80% of $400,000 is $320,000. Minus the $200,000 Loan Balance Means you have $120,000 in Equity.
