If you saw your Mother's heart break in two, her drop to the floor and her scream echo through the rooms of the ho...use, would you change your mind? If you watched your Father cry for the first time in years and saw the despair on his face and the life sucked out of this body, would you change your mind? Would you like to watch your Brother or Sister hopelessly look for answers all their life, try to understand why and what they didn't see or notice to change your mind. Feel a sense of guilt every day of their life, would you change your mind? If you knew your decision would affect everyone who is close to you and bring so much sorrow to your family and friends, cause so many tears, fights, breakups, anger, confusion and hurt, would you change your mind? The catastrophic impact that taking your life has on people left behind is enormous and you need to think about this more than anything. Is life so bad you are willing to make someone else's life worse? The answer is no, its always NO Can I say "Don't be selfish" ? perhaps not the best words but the only way to get the point across. By taking your life you are taking so much more and it doesn't stop when you take your last breath. He was 17. Why am I writing this post? Lately depression and suicide consume news headlines, social media and in the community and its scary! I have always wanted to do something to help people understand why suicide is not the answer. This post could be the start of something, who knows.. perhaps now is the time. If you have been affected or don't want to be effected by suicide, I ask you to share this post. Lets see how far this can go, how many people could read this and change their mind. Let's see if we can all try to get this message across to those who think this is the only option. Im going to call this the "TOM movement" and see if my brothers life can mean so much more than his death. xxxx
