20.01.2022 Someone hit a roo on the main road out of Lobethal this morning. Poor fella was alive but in a very bad way. A big thanks to the local police who euthanized him.and those who rang around to get help for the poor creature. If you are unsure what to do in this situation, the police can euthanize a badly hurt animal or ring the Native Animal Network for rescue help. If its a female roo, be aware she may have a joey.

18.01.2022 The Lights of Lobethal committee have currently been working hard and obtaining advise from many different sources in regards to how we can hold the 2020 festiv...al. Unfortunately it is with heavy hearts the committee advises the community that we made the responsible decision to cancel this year’s event. The decision was not made lightly but due to the Covid 19 pandemic our priority is keeping the community as safe as possible. We wish everyone well during this time and look forward hopefully seeing you all at the 2021 event. *To clarify, the official festival is cancelled but we encourage homes and businesses to light up bigger than ever. Actual events such as The Living Nativity, the pageant etc are unfortunately not able to be safely put on with covid 19 restrictions. We all love the lights and are thankful to each and every person who puts up displays. * See more

04.01.2022 There's no doubt that this year has been full of many challenges. With the anniversary of the bushfires looming it is important to be aware of the risk of suici...de. Open arms are holding a safe talk seminar helping people to become more alert to suicide prevention opportunities and how to offer help. See the attached flier for all of the opportunities and the contact details to attend.
