25.01.2022 The Flu Season is nearing upon us! As per the RACGP recommendations, we are recommending that everyone wait until late April to have their flu vaccine as flu season is typically from June - September and the vaccine protection may only last 3-4 months. The exception would be children under 9 who have not had the flu vaccine before as they need 2 vaccines given 4 weeks apart, so they should have the first vaccine now and pregnant women.... The Government funded vaccines are for: * all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders >6month * children 6mth - 5y.o * people >5y.o with heart disease, diabetes, severe asthma, COPD, chronic disease with hospitalisation in previous year * pregnant women * people aged >65 All other people will be charged a fee of $15 for flu vaccination.
