16.01.2022 At the western end of Little Bourke Street you'll find this cute Orange-bellied Parrot mural by Dvate. Despite being tenacious little migratory birds that cross Bass Strait every year, sadly fewer than 50 remain in the wild. Recent breeding programs released juvenile parrots into the wild and the natives have successfully passed on the migratory path to the young ones. Their numbers are still perilously low, but there's hope for them yet!
15.01.2022 Hey folks, I'm going to Adelaide this weekend to check out the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the 24-hour bakeries, and the Mall's Balls. I won't be running tours on the 9th or 10th of March, but I'll be back in time for the Wednesday tours.
10.01.2022 Atrium Bar on 35 is out of this world! From the bar you can look up at the dozen floors above you, then in the bathroom, from their floor-to-ceiling windows look out across the sporting precinct and eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I was there the other night. Accidentally my laughter echoed up the chamber and attracted looks of annoyance from the other patrons.
08.01.2022 This weekend is the 32nd Lonsdale Street Greek Festival. The street is going to burst with over 80 food, drink and craft stalls celebrating Melbourne's Greek community this Saturday and Sunday. It's a free event, with three performance spaces running through the day, and late into the night. Visit The Greek Centre for more info.
07.01.2022 I'm always glad to find posters from Peter Drew Arts on my walking tour. They often spark questions from guests about Australia's identity. They give me an opportunity to talk about the actions of the past, challenges we're facing presently, and goals of the future.
