09.01.2022 ***UPDATE*** We have spoken to the Victor Harbor CFS this morning. They have received a large amount of food donations from Coles. They directed us to the Mundo...o group which includes Goolwa. Darren from the Mundoo group said that the goods donations are very much appreciated, but can also be difficult to manage logistically, and the best way to donate now is to donate money to the CFS foundation, which helps firefighters directly. We are blown away by how generous people are and their willing to help Ally and I have been heartbroken by all the bushfires in our country. We have been deeply touched by the fires so close to home here in SA, both in the Adelaide hills and Kangaroo Island. We are meant to be spending some time away in Goolwa, but feel really helpless and have been doing some investigating as to how we can directly help. For our friends that are spending some time in Port Elliot, Goolwa, Victor Harbour and surrounding areas. I have received information that the Local CFS in Victor Harbor need some immediate supplies for the crew and to take over to Kangaroo Island. Below is a list of what they require: Toilet rolls - hand towels - long life milk - 600mls bottled water - oats/muesli bars - Coke/Sprite/Solo cans - Powerade - Gatorade - Small packs of cheese and crackers - Small packs of lollies- Snack size shapes - Tea and coffee - Small boxes nuts - small boxes trail mixes. They are also after Leaf blowers - battery sort plus batteries and charger - chain saws - battery sort plus batteries and chargers - Pressure water cleaner - petrol.
