11.01.2022 In Australia it is mandatory for a PEEP (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan) to be created for any occupant of a building who may require assistance in the case of an emergency. The building owner/representative is responsible for training of the Emergency Evacuation Plan and any PEEP plans is completed by those appointed into the Emergency Control Group (ECO). It is then the responsibility of the ECO to be aware of any PEEP’s present in their building and for them to under...take the specific procedures and training required to assist that person in an emergency. In the UK as shown in the attached story, the Grenfell Disaster commission will deliver many recommendations (including for the disabled occupants of buildings) to ensure that lessons learnt from the disaster that claimed 72 lives and injured another 70 delivers needed change to UK building Emergency preparedness. 09.01.2022 Today marks 6 years since the Lindt Café siege where it took more than 5 hours for Emergency Services to source floor plans of the café in order to assist NSW Police with their rescue operation. Following the Inquest there were 45 recommendations from from the Coroner including that the NSW Police Force investigate the development of an integrated intelligence system that allows selected officers secure access to all information platforms and to record and share operational ...decisions Backed by Federal Government funding, Locatrix developed Emergency Services Platform (ESP) to do exactly this.
