06.01.2022 The cape york peninsula development road is in good shape thanks to the Queensland Government. Passing through Pascoe River on the way home on Sunday 15.11.2020 was a refreshing moment to stop and appreciate the Country that all our artists hold dear and have in one way or the other painted about this great landscape. Yapu Silas Hobson recently completed a painting titled "Many Rivers to Cross". Its about his personal experiences of travelling in and out of the Lockhart River road through many rivers and crossings like Wenlock, Pascoe, Canoe Creek crossing, Browns, Garraway and more. Pascoe during its high peak in wet season cannot be crossed. Home also to crocodiles so you have to be on high alert. #artgang

01.01.2022 Completed another batch of cataloging of new artworks tonight for our to be launched new online shop soon. These works are exclusively for our online shop and not available for purchase off line. These are batch of works by mama Evelyn Omeenyo. Spectacular indeed. #artgang

01.01.2022 Big week for many of our community members attending grade 12 graduation. Mama Evelyn Omeenyo (elder and artist) travels to Brisbane to represent the entire family and Mama Margery Accoom for their grandson's graduation. It will be a moment of joy and sadness. Their grandson whom we will not name sadly had his mum pass away a few years back. The only daughter to Mama Margery Accoom, who raised her only son to the time of her untimely death. We paused today at the Arts Centre.... We had tears of good memories. Mama Evelyn didn't ask for any form of assistance from the Arts Centre but we felt compelled to assist her cover some of her travel costs. We send mama Evelyn off with our warmest puuya kuntha (strong heart) love. They are the real champions doing the role of parent and grandparents in one person. We congratulate all other Lockhart River graduating year 12 students this week across Queensland. #artgang See more
