24.01.2022 Attention all bowlers, The Lockleys Bowling Club cordially invites you to join us for our annual marquee event;

23.01.2022 The EAGLES are back in Premier!! Today is a great day with the Eagles defeating the very gallant Tigers at Eagle Park Congratulations to our Div 1 side gaining promotion and now will face the Lions next Saturday at Grange... An exciting few months coming up.

22.01.2022 Important messages: Hi everybody, just need some help in two areas. Firstly, Taylors cup Bronze division kicks off this Sunday night. We require players urgently.... A real game is the best sort of practice, and Lord knows some of us could do with a bit of improving. Please consider having a roll on a casual, friendly environment. Please contact Ashley ASAP if you are available. Second, I need at least 1 volunteer to run the bar for Wed night owls every fortnight and at least 2 volunteers for Tuesday nights once per fortnight. This is a very easy night's work. I will provide training if required, but it is really really easy. Eagles, lets see if we can get some new blood helping out instead of the same faces all the time.

22.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION Dear Eagles, Just a quick reminder that the social highlight of the winter occurs this Sunday at 10am. Yes our AGM is upon us and a fun time will be had by all. Please note that due to the dreded COVID, social distancing will apply for the usual singing, dancing and general frolicking. ... Our nightowls members form an integral part of our club. Nightowls brings a large and varied group of people together enjoying our great sport. We desperately need volunteers to coordinate this Season's competition. At this stage we are leaning towards a once a week format but that will be dependent on the number of helpers we can gather be they full members or from the nightowls group. If you want to help please contact any board member. Lester and Glen have done a wonderful job for many years, pleas step up and follow in their footsteps.

21.01.2022 Round 7 Round Up Not a good day for the Div 1 troops copping one at Ascot on Sat. The Lions were to good on the day, although Fred's rink hung on for a 1 shot win. Not any better for the Div 3 side getting belted by Beaumont on an unusually damp green at Eagle Park. One highlight was Lew's rink of JB, Dominic and Lyn scoring a good win. A special mention to Dominic playing his first game at this division.... Much better news out at Glenelg where the Div 5 side scored a strong win. Lynn Teagues mob of Judith, Romano & Glenis scoring a huge 20 shot victory. The Div 6 had a perfect result, not one wayward bowl and kept the opposition scoreless in a 3 rink win. (by forfeit)

21.01.2022 Round 8 round up Our Div 1 side bounced back with a strong victory over Tranmere on Sat at Eagle Park. 3 rinks up sealed the victory keeping us well into the finals positions. The Div 3 side went to Happy Valley & although well beaten overall, there two great performances by Des & Darryls rinks.... The Div 5 guys went down to a strong Grange side. However, Lyn Tegues rink continues to fire with another strong win. The highlight of the round was out at Somerton where the Div 6 guys made it 3 in a row with a 2-1 rink victory. This side is made up of a mixture of rookie & veterans. Well Done Eagles!

18.01.2022 IT'S SHOWTIME!!!! Watch our boys flying the Eagle flag on the TV Look at the clip above for details... A free drink for the first person to correctly Lip-read Ashley

18.01.2022 OK Eagles, it's nearly spring so it's time to dust off those bowls and get on the green. This Saturday is the commencement of pre-season bowls with some friendly games (I think pairs) commencing at 12.30 With a temperature of 20 degrees forecast, this is the perfect opportunity to get out and start preparing for a great season.... There is no doubt that to many of us came into last season underdone, don't let this happen again. Secondly, we are incredibly short on volunteers to be selectors. This amazes me as so many of our membership have told me very regularly how the job should be done!!!!!!!! With all this expertise around there should be a queue a mile long. Quite seriously, those who may have felt aggrieved by selection in the past should consider having a go in the role. Please contact Ash if you are interested and you will be considered for the role. Those who don't want to and/or have never been a selector may want to seriously think before they whinge about selection in the future as the response may well be 'put up or shut up'

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, our Quiz night scheduled for July 13 is looking like it's going to be a great success, Tickets are only $10 and there is still room for more teams. This fun night is our major off-season event. Please support your club. To make things easier, we have decided to postpone our Xmas in July so that there is no clash with our Quiz Night. We may go radical and try a Xmas in December!!

17.01.2022 The Lockleys Bowling Club salutes all of our nation's service men and women - past and present. LEST WE FORGET

17.01.2022 There are few events in life that can bring joy to the wretched, thrill the spiritless and bring excitement so as to drive the hordes to the Valium bottle as a bowling club AGM. This Sunday at 10am all Eagles have the opportunity to attend this momentous occasion. As if that was not tempting enough! Wait.......there's more!... For the first time in living memory we have decided to damn the expense and conclude the festivities with a gourmet, free, gratis,no charge, complimentary SAUSAGE SIZZLE WITH ONIONS ON THE BOTTOM! Do not miss this opportunity....this is your chance to help make Lockleys Great Again

15.01.2022 Eagles please get your name on the list for our Season opening celebration on Fri 6th September. Starting from 6pm we will be issuing the new uniforms and outlining our plans for the upcoming season. This is a required event for all pennant bowlers.... Family and friends are most welcome See more

14.01.2022 Welcome to 2019!! It's great to be back with you for the second half of the season. There is heaps happening and following are a few important notices. Firstly, on behalf of the whole club, I'd like to thank the bowls community of SA for supporting our Grand Classic last week. It was a great day with so many visiting teams.... For all Eagles, please consider reciprocating and support as many of the clubs holding tournaments as you can, these events are vital for ALL clubs. State singles are on at Eagle Park this Sunday, please let Ashley Halls know if you can help with marking. Sunday Jan 20 we will be hosting Taylors Cup Gold and will need help with bar, BBQ, raffles etc. Then on Feb 10 we'll do it again for the Bronze competition, again, we'll need helpers. The club would love to have our championship finals played on Sunday 3/2/19. We could make a day of it with BBQ, bar etc. Please factor this in when scheduling games. Next is our Quiz night on FEB 15th. I'll send out a separate notice shortly.

14.01.2022 Here it is guys, our funnest event of the year!!! Gather your family and friends and come and support your club on a fantastic night.

13.01.2022 ALL BOWLS CANCELLED TOMORROW - SAT 2nd MARCH! A good chance to finish off those jobs at home...paving, gutter cleaning, roof painting..... Div 1 & 3 bowlers only - these games will be replayed. ... Dates and time will be advised next week, possibly Fri 8th but being a long weekend it could be the week after See more

11.01.2022 This Sat 31/8 is our first INTERNAL TRIAL commencing AT 12.30. (Casual dress) A reminder that any members who are not financial will NOT be included in any pre-season trials. With a forecast of 20 degrees, this Saturday is looking like it's going to be a glorious day.... Both A & C greens are now reverting to North/South. Guys, those who leave it until later to start bowling may be making it difficult for themselves to hit form before pennants. Come on out and have a great day of bowls.

10.01.2022 Season 2018/19 has come to an end with the best possible result, our Div 1 side winning the pennant after securing promotion last week. A 7 shot victory over Ascot Park was the perfect way to cap off a hard thought campaign. Congratulations to all the bowlers who have played in that side at any time during the season.... This combined with a pennant for our Div 4 ladies, our near miraculous effort to hold our colour in Div 3, and finals for both Wednesday sides draws the curtain on a successful season. Well done Eagles!

10.01.2022 All of us at Eagle Park are so proud of our Div 4 ladies who today secured the club's first Pennant for 2 seasons. Well done to the girls finishing 10 pts clear at the top of the table. Of course it's a team game and credit to all players who supported Margaret Collins & Pam Brown in both being in the Top 4 Skips in the division.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!

09.01.2022 Wishing our country cousin Rob Flavel a very happy BIRTHDAY

08.01.2022 Hey all Eagles, just a quick reminder that Marlene's famous fish night is on again this Friday at 6pm At $16 for a delicious freshly cooked meal this is not to be missed...try going to Holdfast Shores and see what you get for $16!!! 08.01.2022 Hey all Eagles, get ready for a stinker on Wednesday! All games start at 9.15. Maybe this global warming thing is real!!

08.01.2022 ATTENTION BOWLERS, ALL FORMS OF LAWN BOWLS FROM PENNANTS TO NIGHTOWLS HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR FELLOW BOWLERS WHO DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO SOCIAL MEDIA OR EMAIL ARE MADE AWARE OF THIS RESTRICTION. LOOK AFTER ONE ANOTHER AND STAY SAFE, I THINK GIN HELPS.

08.01.2022 ATTENTION WEDNESDAY BOWLERS---games at Morphett Vale and Torrensville are CANCELLED. The Rosewater game is still on at this stage.

07.01.2022 A couple of Eagles celebrating birthdays this week..all the best to Glenis Screnci & Peter Thaler!!

05.01.2022 Round 9 round up Our Div 1 mob are sitting nicely in 2nd spot after nearly clean sweeping the Hawks on Saturday. A couple of big wins to Ash & Theo highlighting a strong away performance. The Div 3 side struggled in the wind going down to Blackwood at Eagle Park. Lew & his henchmen Romano, Dom & Pearso can hold their heads up with the only win on the day.... Brighton proved to strong at home in div 5. A big win to Lester, Billy Balter, Phil, and Dario kept things respectable. The Div 6 side came up against a very strong West Croydon - Kilkenny RSL side on Saturday ending a 3 game winning streak. However we still managed a great result with Margaret Livie, Marg Collins, Graeme Beck & Pat Madigan scoring an excellent win

03.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL EAGLES As the season reaches it's climax, we have lots of events coming up. Mad March finishes with Wild Week commencing on Sunday 24th with the Ladies Classic. This is the time for the men of our club to give the hard working ladies a break and step up! We will require help in the kitchen, serving, bar & raffles.... Then from Monday 25th until Thursday we are hosting the Country Carnival. This is a major event where we host fantastic bowlers from throughout the state and show true Eagle hospitality. Again we will need help as for the Ladies classic but also we need markers. On Wed 27th we will hold our inaugural Power Play competition from 7.30. This free event is a chance for our loyal Night-Owlers to mix it with the Pennant players in an exciting format. Our Presentation Night will be held on Thu 11th April from 6.30pm. This event is being fully catered by professional staff who will prepare an exquisite meal. This event should be attended BY ALL MEMBERS Dear members, if you are one of the unfortunately large portion of our club who has never previously done anything to support Lockleys......this is your chance. If you can help in any of the above mentioned tasks, please contact Sam, Ash, Bill or Mark.
