25.01.2022 A bit of a light hearted look at a genuinely serious issue with automotive security. If your car is a push button start, its susceptible to this type of theft. We advise ALL our clients not to leave ANY of their keys or handbags, briefcases etc by the front or back doors. This is happening in Australia too, its not just a European problem.

24.01.2022 We’ve had a busy couple of weeks to start the new year off. I finally got some time away between Christmas and New Year, even though I was taking calls to try to help as many customers as I could. It was my first holiday since 2014, so I think it may have been a bit overdue! We got straight back into our work. I had the pleasure of having an offsider with me for a couple of days, which certainly helped with the work load. We responded to a call for help with locker keys from... our regional brigade during the local bushfires. We were more than happy to do this at no charge; after everything the emergency services have done for us this season, it’s the least I could do! The suburbs that were ...hit; Blackheath, Blaxland and Mount Riverview. Items that were stolen included; power tools, gardening equipment and even a tool box from the back of a ute. This crime is opportunistic, and these thieves can hit any suburb within the Blue Mountains Police Area Command. 19.01.2022 Local businesses rely on visitors from out of area. As a local tradesman it is wonderful to be able to get parking right out the front of businesses in the main streets for once. But this hides a real problem; visitors arent here. This is directly impacting locals, many who over the last few months have been on the end of a hose, driving supplies and personnel, radio operations and the like. Some of these people are now coming back to work, only to find there isnt enough work because tourists have not yet returned. It was encouraging today as I worked my way up the mountains to see the highway busy again. Thanks to those who are coming back. As many of you know I decided to close my workshop about 4 years ago. This has proven to be a great move. Well, the first thing to look for is the tick; either grey or blue. This means the page is verified by Facebook as the business’ official Facebook page. When you’re looking for a good local tradesperson, look for an association membership like the Master Locksmiths Association, which we belong to. This gives you peace... of mind, knowing that we have had to sitan extra exam, to be ablyto call ourselves Master Locksmiths. We have a code of ethics to abide by. 08.01.2022 We are less than one week away from a major milestone. On April 1, Lock Logic will have been in business for 20 years. I will spend the day at TAFE preparing online learning resources for the stage 2 apprentices. I hadnt ever looked that far ahead when I started out all those years ago, although I never thought that we would see in 20 years in such a whimper. At some times this last week, I didnt even think we could make it to today, but small dribs and drabs of work are ke...eping it ticking over. I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has shared the journey with us; past employees, all our loyal clients, our suppliers whos friendship we stretched some times, our families, for putting up with the stress balls I would become sometimes. I would like to thank my late Mum and Dad, who without their financial backing we would have never made it through the early years. I think the biggest thanks has to go to my wife Lorraine, who stumped up the initial funds to get us going , even if she didnt always believe in me, let me follow this crazy dream ( nightmare ). I want to pay special thanks also to Tony Douglas for his sage advice, and also our first big job at Sydney Olympic Park. I cant forget my mate Phil, customer number one, who insisted on paying full price rather than mates rates! I hope that once these current issues with covid19, and the bushfires prior to this pass, we get to kick on for a good while yet. I hope to have some sort of bash later in the year or maybe next year, depending how long this situation lasts. I will keep you all posted. I know how hard it is sometimes when things arent going our way. It hasnt been going Boyds way for a long time. ... He was an enlisted soldier in the Zambian Army when he was shot by rebels in Mozambique 30 years ago. He was flown to the UK for treatment to his spine where he was shot. He is a paraplegic. My wife, Lorraine cared for him in a top spinal unit in London. He has now been using the same wheelchair for 30 years. It is worn out. It needs replacement. Boyds efforts to get the military money he is entitled to has been frustrated at every turn. The level of corruption in Zambia means that whilst the ruling elite who sent Boyd on their mission, have now washed their hands of their responsibilities to veterans. Boyd still works in the military, he is an active member of his local church. He finds it difficult to get around in his current chair. 03.01.2022 Tip of the day When you are buying a new vehicle, check with the service department if they will give you the vehicles’ security codes easily after purchase. If they don’t give it to you, ensure it is in your purchase contract. Maybe go without the useless extended warranty and have them give you the code. You will need it when you lose your keys or need extra keys and remotes made. Some dealers charge a small fee for this, others charge an extortionate fee, others simply re...fuse to give you these codes for your own vehicle. Hyundai and Kia are the worst offenders. Most of their dealers point blank refuse to give the car owner the immobiliser pin codes. This is YOUR PROPERTY. These codes are unique to YOUR CAR. In my opinion this is restrictive trade practices, as the dealers will tell you only they can programme new keys and remotes. WRONG! Message me if you need some help with this. See more

A little bit of historical trivia, way back in 1998 when I was working for another locksmith firm in Sydney, I installed the locks on the BridgeClimb offices. I was offered free tickets to climb the bridge, but not really realising what it was that I was being offered, I knocked them back!! Oh well, we live and learn don’t we!
