25.01.2022 URGENT UPDATE Our hard working organising committee are currently working on a new covid plan behind the scenes to ALLOW SPECTATORS TO ATTEND OUR EVENT. There will still be some restrictions and conditions in place. This will include practicing social distancing and having an average of 1 person per 4m2 allowed in each area, such as the viewing area, catering areas etc. Everyone needs to sign in at the gate and your temperature will be checked. Once you have completed both ...of these requirements, you will be given an arm band, all other relevant information and be directed to the parking area. This is still pending approval, but with our excellent volunteer administration team on the job, we are sure this will be approved..... Stay tuned for further updates...

25.01.2022 TRACK PREP UNDERWAY The Mulgowie Short Course event is only a month away and the organisers have been hard at work over the weekend creating the new course layout for the event. The new course is going to be a lot wider, faster and more flowing for competitors to test their skills. It will also offer better spectator viewing around the HQ precinct. The region has also received some good rain over the last month to help settle the dust. This is definitely an event competitors... and spectators wont want to miss. To be able to enter the gate everyone who attends must register as a competitor, Service Crew member or official. 18.01.2022 With 2020 almost over, we thought we should share our proposed dates for our events in 2021. Our first round remains where it is has always been at the end of February. Our second event has been brought forward into October, as November is often the start of the wet season in the region and with it looking like there could be some rain around this year we are trying to move forward to avoid having wet events in the future.

The track crew have been busy prepping the course and say it should be great race conditions for competitors. 16.01.2022 TRACK UPGRADES We have not only added some new sections, we have improved some of the existing course... the old course went along the track in the background, where the ute is parked, which used to be a little bit of a tight dog leg corner around a tree, strainer post and an old fence.... now, thanks to the property owner, the fence and strainer post have been removed and a new track has been made, turning this section into one big sweeping straight... 3 DAYS TO GO TO GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!

15.01.2022 EVENT UPDATE The Lockyer team have begun preparations for Thornton Short Course. We hope to have Supplementary Regulations and Entries open toward the end of September. At this stage there will be some Covid restrictions and changes to how Drivers Briefing, Scrutiny and other aspects of the event will be conducted. All this will be explained in the Supplementary Regulations.... The course will be similar layout to previous years with each section consisting 3 continuous laps and the field broken up into separate heats. Stay tuned for more updates

15.01.2022 Anyone planning to travel out to the event there is some helpful info below: MEALS Friday and Saturday Evening: If you would like a meal at the Mulgowie Hotel can you PLEASE make a booking - (07) 5465 9127 No booking most likely NO MEAL.... CAMPING: - THERE IS NO CAMPING AVAILABLE AT THE PITS/HQ AREA or VENUE. Camping is allowed at the Mulgowie Hall Grounds for competitors and support crews. Camping can be booked and paid through the Caretakers: Deidre & Kevin - telephone 0487 077 738 or Mary Mullins 0409 716 102. The cost for: Powered sites - $20 per night. Unpowered sites - $15 per night. Showers and toilets are available within the grounds and all users are asked to keep these facilities clean and tidy. (Please take your rubbish with you!) CATERING at event: We will be catering at the event for Lunch on Saturday Breakfast on Sunday Lunch on Sunday DIRECTIONS to event: 153 Mulgowie Rd, Thornton Take the exit to Laidley at Plainland. Follow this road through the town of Laidley to a T Junction. Turn Right and follow this Road. You will pass the Mulgowie Hotel approx 10 Km Continue for approx 5 km and you will come to 153 Mulgowie Rd on your left.

There are showers and toile...ts available. THERE IS NO CAMPING AT THE EVENT VENUE. 08.01.2022 The recent cancellation of the Mulgowie Short Course on the 9th & 10th of November, due the the fires in the Lockyer Valley region, our 2019 series has been left incomplete. The organising committee have all agreed they want both rounds to be completed, so ROUND 2 has been rescheduled for the 29 Feb/1 March 2020 and entries will open again for all competitiors. The competitors that entered the November event, you will have already received an email that explains what will hap...pen with the current entries. The organising committee along with the property owners, have made the decision to change the layout of the Mulgowie Short Course in 2020. With the dry conditions in the region we will be facing and some feedback from competitors, the course will no longer climb up the hill. This will help make the course easier to manage in regards to any potential fire risks we may face, the recovery and safety of competitors and officials, offer better spectator viewing and give competitors a wider, faster and more flowing course layout. We have attached a map of the new proposed layout. In regards to the propsed 2020 Lockyer Short Course Series we will make a announcement shortly..

07.01.2022 RACE UPDATE The Lockyer Valley region has been receiving plenty of rain over the last few weeks which has left the area looking very green. The rain has also left our track in great condition as the track prep continues. The new sections are almost completed, the track is wider and faster and the soil has plenty of moisture to keep the dust to a minimum. SO GET THOSE ENTRIES IN!!! They close this Thursday...
