22.01.2022 TECH TIP TUESDAY! How to clean your STIHL HD2 Air Filter. Air Filter maintenance is one of the most overlooked parts of a general service that we see come through the workshop. Cleaning an air filter is something that is easy enough to complete at home and will aid in the longevity of your machine. ... Below is a customers air filter (not the worst we have seen, would you believe it ) as you can see the build up of fine dust in the before pictures. Unfortunately a simple tap on the work bench wont get it all off. We use STIHLs Varioclean to assist us with shifting any stubborn dirt & grime. You simply remove the air filter from the machine, spray generously to affected area, allow a maximum of 5 mins for the product to actively work (as you can see that nice Milo looking liquid) then wash off with water & a sponge. 05.01.2022 Hosing the underside of your mower allows for proper air flow, allowing the mower to cut at its best. It also helps reduce corrosion and is easiest to do just a...fter youve mowed. Disconnect the spark plug lead, prop up the mower to reveal the underside. Then give the underside a good hosing. Put the mower down again and reattach the spark plug lead.
