25.01.2022 Update: You may notice I have taken down the shared post in regards to the birth centre in Toowoomba, this is due to permissions. As informed the birth centre has been updated to allow for Covid, increased volume and to allow higher risk woman to enter. This has changed the environment of this space and we hope that it will return as was soon. Thank you for all your posts in support of keeping the birth centre a homely space

Congratulations to this lovely couple on the birth of your little man overnight with a bit of juggling we ended up having a beautiful birth at home via water. Seeing everyones positive stories on here really helped build my confidence towards homebirth so it only feels right to give back Gave birth to my little 9lb 6oz boy yesterday morning, no pain meds, only a cheap tens machine and then into the water All in the comfort of my own home with my two amazing midwives, husband, 3yr old son, Mum and Nan all there to support us something I ho...nestly never thought Id be able to do. After a traumatic first birth in hospital I was desperate to make sure I had a different experience this time. And I really did If you are nervous like I was, I highly recommend learning about hypnobirthing/breathing techniques and anything by Ina May Gaskin and choose a support team who believe in you Good luck to all the pregnant mummas out there, if I can do it, you CAN definitely do it See more

19.01.2022 Have your say! Currently no birth centre! with the birth suites, clinics located in the hospital well women who are not sick will be seen and birthing in the hospital. NOW is time to advocate for a free standing unit not located in the hospital for those that do not need all the medical interventions the hospital brings!

Of course the wonderful Sonya was in attendance, having been with this family for there last birth I felt thankful to be involved for a second time. Again the mama was legendary! NOW is the time to call, email, engage on socials and see your state MP about our rubbish maternity services. Google your suburb plus ‘state MP’ to find electorate details. 02.01.2022 Have you birthed at Ipswich Hospital in the last 1-2years? Or are you currently pregnant and will birth there? Have you had a poor experience? Were you not o...ffered the safest, gold standard of care - continuity of Midwifery carer? IE the MGP program? Our Qld branch president and a rep have just had a meeting with all the executives at Ipswich Hospital and they have asked if all women who have experienced poor care, trauma, undignified treatment to please make a complaint. We understand how difficult it can be as a new mum and potentially dealing with trauma to do this and I’m sorry it falls on your shoulders. This is a chance for you to have your voice heard and see change. Your experience and how you felt is valid. I’ll post the link to make the complaint in the comment below. Please also reach out if you feel comfortable doing so once the complaint is complete so we can ensure your voice is heard. Edit: the system might not be coping with so many complaints... 02.01.2022 Please note change of venue!! The Lockyer Valley Regional Council has been absolutely ridiculous! after completing all the requested documents and jumping through many hoops to have this event in a local hall they have now at four weeks out from this event informed me they are not happy with this and I need to jump through another lot of hoops! Very upset and frustrated!! The upside is we have a beautiful new venue please share far and wide!! Thank you **Parking and event at back in Function Centre.

Ive known this gorgeous mumma for many years. The stars aligned when she asked me to be present and part of her support team for this incredible journey - and boy oh boy Im glad they did.
