Well, Lockyer Valley Regional Council is seeking applications for the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee.... The Committee provides advice and assistance to Council on the delivery of the RADF program under clear guidance and expectations from the Terms of Reference. Local artists, arts and cultural workers, members of cultural groups and people active or interested in the arts community are encouraged to apply. 17.01.2022 Be it the impacts of the global pandemic, or the ongoing drought, it is fair to say 2020 will stay with us for many years to come. Despite the trials of 2020, we are proud of what Council has achieved for the community and we are looking forward to what this year will bring for the Lockyer Valley region be it Passenger Rail, Lockyer Valley & Somerset Water Security Business Case, Equine Precinct, Fairways Park Stage 1 and the Southern Queensland Correctional Centre. 16.01.2022 As the Easter Bunny plots out its route and pinpoints the Lockyer Valley on its map, many of us are anticipating the excitement tomorrow morning will bring. Once the overconsumption of chocolate is complete and all you have left is a sore tummy and rubbish gather your Easter eggs wrappers, scrunch them into the size of a small fist, then pop them in the yellow lidded recycling bin. The foil wrappers can get a new lease of life in things like aluminium cans and baseball bats. While you won’t be saving your waistline you will be helping to save the planet.

In light of International Day of People with Disability on December 3, we’re stoked to be commencing work on wheelchair-friendly access ramps in the main street of Gatton from Monday! These ramps will not only improve the safety of the CBD but also provide greater mobility for our community. ... Improvements will take place between 4am and 9am daily, to minimise disruption to businesses and shoppers as the festive season nears. Weather permitting, the project will be completed by Friday 4 December.

03.01.2022 Wildlife Matters - Fairways Park Works will commence on Fairways Park Stage 1 this week with the contractor undertaking selective tree clearing to prepare the site. Council has undertaken rigorous environmental studies to minimise impact on wildlife, wildlife habitats and the natural vegetation of the site, but there will be removal of some trees. An authorised wildlife spotter will be onsite to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and protection of wildlife. The ...construction process will result in some disruption for wildlife, however we’re aiming to minimise this and restore wildlife-friendly conditions as quickly as possible. The project includes the re-use of many trees cleared from the site in landscaping and nature play, as well planting hundreds of new trees, shrubs and plants which will aid in restoring natural habitat.
