25.01.2022 Only two days to go until the Loddon Valley’s biggest Food and Wine event of the year! A few reminders for the day: Feel free to bring picnic rugs and or chairs, however we will have seating available Bring some cash for the stalls. ... Unfortunately no dogs are allowed at the event due to health and safety regulations. No smoking permitted at the event. No BYO food and drinks It is going to be a warm day with a high UV rating so please be SunSmart, wear hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. We will be providing shade on the day and our information stall will have sunscreen available. Tickets for general entry and tastings are available at the gate on the day. If tasting please be prepared to show your ID for proof of age. Tickets are $20 for tastings, $10 for general (kids under 16 years free) We do have buses running on the day from Bendigo, Wedderburn and Dunolly but bookings are essential. 14.01.2022 Tickets for the Luncheon with Karen Martini have officially SOLD OUT! Don’t panic though you still will have a chance to see her during the day around the stalls. Tickets for tastings on the day which include a tasting glass are $20 and general entry is $10 (kids under 16 years free). 11.01.2022 Will buses be available on the day? The answer is YES! Buses from Bendigo will include stops at Marong and Bridgewater. This is $10 per person which includes return. There are also two local buses running from:... Dunolly with stops at Eddington, Laanecoorie and Tarnagulla Inglewood with a stop at Bridgewater The local buses are $5 per person including return. Bookings are essential and each passenger must be booked individually. All payment for buses must be made on the day in cash. 08.01.2022 Don’t miss your chance to enjoy a three-course lunch prepared by Chef Karen Martini. The Loddon Valley Food and Wine Expo luncheon will include a grazing feast matched with local wines. Karen is an award-winning chef, restaurateur, author and television presenter. For over a decade she has been the resident chef on Australia’s longest running lifestyle television series, Better Homes and Gardens. Karen also appears as a regular judge on Seven’s hit reality cooking program, M...y Kitchen Rules, and is the co-host of Seven’s The Intolerant Cooks, which is currently in its third season. Karen says she is thrilled to support the first ever Loddon Valley Food and Wine Expo. She has enjoyed creating a menu from local produce and learning about the region along the way. Karen is never one to shy away from a challenge, and creating a luncheon at the Newbridge Recreation Reserve is one she is sure to enjoy, especially with the support she has received from the local community. She can’t wait to be surrounded by so many people on the day who love food and care about the ingredients involved. 05.01.2022 Here’s an insight into one of our producers featured during the luncheon with Karen Martini. Mycelia Organics is the largest organic mushroom farming company in Australia. Their main commercial crops are white button, cups, and field mushrooms as well as brown Crimini, Swiss brown cups, and Portabella mushrooms. ... Mycelia Organics grow these without the use of pesticides or fungicides at their farming sites near Bendigo and Diggers Rest, and pack them in to recyclable and compostable punnets for sale. Their products are available at over 600 independent grocery stores nation-wide and found in the Organic produce sections at Coles, Woolworths & Costco supermarkets! They are also researching and experimenting with a variety of other culinary, nutritional, and medicinal fungi for human consumption and bio-remediation with some exciting products in the pipeline.
