23.01.2022 Thank you to St Helen's Masonic Lodge for a most enjoyable evening at our annual Tri-Lodge 'LSD' meeting. The visiting brethren from Lauriston & Dorset Dorset Masonic Lodge 17TC were last seen enjoying the last of the winter sunshine.

22.01.2022 Does the WM require a driver’s license?

21.01.2022 Amongst Jack Branagan’s many contributions to George Town was as a prolific writer and researcher on the history of the town and district. He was a foundation member of Lodge Lauriston and had the honour of Life Membership bestowed on him in by our lodge in 1983. His history of the Lodge up to 1988 can be found on our website.

20.01.2022 And we hope to be back meeting in our building in August.

17.01.2022 The Tasmanian contingent at the New Zealand Grand Installation last weekend in Wellington NZ. And for something slightly closer to home don’t forget the Lauriston Installation is on the 30th Nov in George Town Tas.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Lodge Castlereagh No 72 UGL NSW & ACT from Lodge Lauriston on a successful installation in the Egyptian Room, Petersham (Sydney). A number of Lauriston brethren were happy to return the visit that Lodge Castlereagh made to our installation last year.

15.01.2022 Not only did our Lodge building get a bit of a tidy up today at the Lauriston Working Bee but we have almost finished everything planned for Stage 1 of the refurbishment. Its been a gradual process and taken a few years but from this... to this.... and now to this..... makes it all worthwhile. Well done guys.

12.01.2022 With Lodge Lauriston's first real life physical meeting in five months happening next week, it's time to get back in shape.

11.01.2022 This picture is shared from the George Town Pictorial History Facebook page. It shows Alfred Wimble Widdowson and was taken in 1936, the year he was WM of Tamar Valley Lodge in Exeter. His son was also a member of Tamar Valley and apparently they used to travel by boat from George Town to Exeter for Lodge and then return the next morning. His grand son (Alfred Waratah Widdowson) was the first Entered Apprentice initiated at Lodge Lauriston following Lauriston's consecration in 1956) and became WM of Lauriston in 1965.

10.01.2022 A gentle reminder that Lauriston will be meeting as normal this coming Friday (20 Dec) for some Masonic Christmas cheer. Merry Christmas and seasons greetings from the Lauriston Facebook team.

09.01.2022 For a friendly welcome, you are invited to consider visiting Lodge Lauriston for its annual installation on the weekend of 29 Nov - 1 Dec. Meet & greet at the Lodge Hall on Friday evening; Installation on the Saturday afternoon at the Lodge Hall with concurrent festivities at the Low Head Pilot Station hosted by the Lauriston Ladies for partners, friends & families; Banquet on Saturday night at the Civic Hall (with all partners, friends & families invited); and finally a BBQ Breakfast at the Lodge Hall on Sunday. 09.01.2022 Women Freemasons have been meeting across the country for over 100 years. There are two female-only Grand Lodges: The Order of Women Freemasons and HFAF Freem...asonry for Women. They both follow exactly the same ceremonies and wear the same regalia as male Freemasons, and they often work closely with community and charity projects. The United Grand Lodge of England have an excellent working relationship with both Grand Lodges. Freemasonry for Women members took part in Open House London in 2019 in order to showcase female Freemasonry, whilst both organisations take part in joint Freshers’ Fairs up and down the country as part of the Universities Scheme. https://www.ugle.org.uk/becoming-a-freemas/women-freemasons

09.01.2022 New Lodge opened at SMC

04.01.2022 Something for all those Masonic train buffs - both big and small. The miniature railway at Palmerston North, New Zealand.

04.01.2022 Love this post from another lodge , a chuckle for the weekend ...

04.01.2022 Lodge Lauriston’s very well regarded Bro Treasurer for many years, Bro Doug Parish.

03.01.2022 Our predecessor Lodge from 1881 and primarily based in Lefroy. The provisional warrant from that time is proudly on the wall in our Lodge Room.

03.01.2022 Lodge meetings over the past few months have obviously changed somewhat. In April, Lauriston became the first Lodge in Tasmania and only the second in Australia to successfully hold a fully Regular Tyled meeting on-line. Our May meeting (Friday 15th May) will also be held in a similar manner. We especially invite any follower of this page who is a current Freemason in good standing to visit us on the night. Should you wish to attend, please send a Private Message to this page, including your email address and we can get the ball rolling.

02.01.2022 What every Lodge Hall should have. Courtesy of our operatively working bee today - a Masonic themed driveway.

02.01.2022 More from the concrete pour - the moment when it started getting serious, then there is always need for a supervisor until that moment when the poor and destitute labourers decide to stop work.

01.01.2022 A bit of Masonic trivia as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lift-off of Apollo 11. Of the 12 men who have set foot on the Moon, 25% were Freemasons (Buzz Aldrin - Apollo 11, Edgar Mitchell - Apollo 14, and James Irwin - Apollo 15).

01.01.2022 The results are in! We ( Neighbourhood House, Lodge Lauriston and GT Parkrun) successfully raised $1205 profit for Bravehearts! Paul Wright will be running 7 ma...rathons in 7 days in 7 states to get their cheque to them! Huge congrats to "The Ring ins" who took out first place! Thanks for coming along and supporting :) much See more
