23.01.2022 Incase you are all unaware A Japanese ship has ran around on the reef of Mauritius, leaking 1,000000kg of oil into the ocean. Mauritius government have decl...ared a state of emergency over what will be a major ecological crisis. Concerns lie with the damage this spill is going to have on the coastal wildlife... Thick, black oil covers their coastline, killing all sorts of marine life. One thing I love about social media is the opportunity to spread and share important information like this. So please share this around or donate money to help the people of Mauritius clean up the oil. Click this link to donate or share this post https://l.instagram.com/ I hope a disaster like this and all many other oil spill tragedies can open eyes to the local issues we are facing at the moment! Like industrialisation in the Gulf of Exmouth and what negative effects an oil spill might have on our coastline as well. We mourn today. Oil spills are not only dangerous to the environment, but to the flora and fauna, to the fish and birds, and also to humans. Heavy oil is toxic and can cause suffocation, dehydration, organ damage and other health issues. This situation is very dangerous not only for the environment but to the people working in the region. We want to thank everyone putting their lives at risk trying to mitigate the impacts of such a disaster.

16.01.2022 Equinor has announced that it will abandon its plans to drill in the Great Australian Bight. This is a huge result for local communities, traditional owners ...and everyone who has had their voices heard. The people have clearly demonstrated they want the Bight protected from oil drilling and it is time for the Australian Government to provide permanent protection. Learn more: wilderness.org.au/equinor_pulls_out This result would not have been possible without the communities and organisations that came together to #fightforthebight as a part of the Great Australian Bight Alliance Thank you Surfrider Foundation Australia , The Wilderness Society, The Wilderness Society South Australia , Sea Shepherd Australia , Patagonia and so many more local community groups, local councils and people right across Australia!

10.01.2022 New Year - New You Get yourself up before the rest of the world - Start with 7am, then push it back in 15 minute increments each day until you’re at 5:30am. Do some movement...... A walk, jog, yoga or some body weight exercises. Go to your local lookout and watch the sun come over the horizon. This is the most magical part of the day! Buy a journal and do a brain dump every morning... Write pro’s and con’s, 5 things that are weighing you down, work through a big life decision... It cleanses the soul! Start each day with Hand on Heart, and scribe what you’re grateful for... And feel it! Get 10 minutes of sun shine on the biggest part of your skin that you can. Do this as early in the day as you can. Get yourself two glass or stainless water bottles and drink them both each day. Make your bed each morning... 07.01.2022 If the idea of an oil spill from the Great Australian Bight hitting the beaches in Sydney freaked you out, Advent Energy's PEP 11 proposal will do your head in.... PEP 11 (Petroleum Exploration Permit 11) is a 4,500 square km zone of the ocean from Manly to Newcastle that will be opened up for oil and gas exploration. Despite opposition from Newcastle, Central Coast and Northern Beaches local councils, the federal government continues to push this harmful and risky project on our community. At the moment dozens of whales are travelling through this zone daily on their traditional migratory paths north. PEP 11 has the potential to significantly impact this whale 'highway' and major environmental assets between Sydney and Newcastle. Stay tuned! See more
