23.01.2022 My wife wrote a story for our 2 year old son about the coronavirus to help him understand what was going on. It was amazing to see this little man engage with t...he story and show a new level of understanding about the important issues in his life that were making him upset (lack of playgrounds and missing grandparents). It has made a big difference to our son so she decided to share this story with others in the hope that it may help others. We hope you enjoy it and get something out of this too. See more
22.01.2022 To all our members, If you have been to China or have been exposed to someone infected with the Coronavirus please refrain from visiting Loftus Playgroup for 2 weeks. This includes children, families and carers. This is a short term inconvenience to protect our members and the wider community. We appreciate your cooperation.... Below is an except from the Media Release from NSW Government on Coronavirus in schools: "The NSW Government has today requested that children who have visited China in the last two weeks not attend school or childcare services until 14 days have lapsed from their date of departure from China. Health Minister Brad Hazzard and Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said although the risk to children is very low, the NSW Government has taken this step as a precautionary measure."

17.01.2022 Are there any mums, dad's, grandparents or caregivers to young children interested in a playgroup? Currently our loftus playgroup is unable to open as usual in the community hall but we are meeting at parks instead for now. Anyone is welcome to come along, any age from the littlies to the big kids who are starting school next year. Tomorrow morning we are meeting at Lantana reserve Engadine from around 9:30.

14.01.2022 LOFTUS PLAYGROUP WILL BE SHUT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS TERM AND WILL REOPEN TERM 2 - 1 MAY 2020. This is due to advice from Playgroup NSW CEO of Playgroup NSW, Nadine Lee: Playgroup NSW continues to remain responsive as the situation surrounding COVID-19 develops, we are closely monitoring the Commonwealth and State Governments announcements and health advice relating to the virus. The health and well-being of the communities we serve is our primary focus during this peri...od of uncertainty, and we are actively developing contingency plans to minimise any potential spread of the virus whilst keeping Playgroup NSW as operational as possible. As such, we have decided to suspend all of our Supported Playgroups and we recommend the same for all Community Playgroups, effective from Tuesday 17 March 2020 until Thursday 9 April 2020. During this time we will continue to monitor new information and respond accordingly. We are also working on a contingency plan for all Playgroup NSW employees which will include how we support all of our playgroups. We are aiming to return to business as usual as soon as we can, but in the meantime we thank you for your continued support of our commitment to keeping everyone healthy.
