I hope this endeavor ins...pires you to go forward collectively. Music is indeed a powerful way to connect during this extraordinary time. 20.01.2022 Hi folks. We have some Japanese youth musicians coming over with Julia Karen and Teruyuki Ueda 10 - 18 August. All LYME members are invited to join in the concert Here is the updated information including ticketing info:... Date: Friday 16th August Venue: Lingo Lin Performing Arts Centre, Ormiston College (124 Sturgeon St) Uniform: Black tops and bottoms 5:30pm combined rehearsal 7pm concert Tickets: $15/$10 book online at https://www.trybooking.com/BEDQA It’s going to feature BRYO, Shailer Park High, and a Taiko group from Gold Coast some LYME players and some Japanese visitors. If anyone is able to host some of our Japanese visitors we need 4 homes - two homes to take 2 students and two homes for single students. The dates are from 10 August to 18 August The students would need to be able to get to Chisholm College in Cornubia or to a place in Shailer Park where I could pick them up Just putting it out there if you can help. The concert is going to be brilliant and I’m really looking forward to it!

06.01.2022 Dear Folks Thanks for looking at whether you can take some billets from Japan returning the favour they gave us last year. We only have 6 girls that need to be billeted. Erin has 2 so that makes 4 left. ... 2 wish to go separately and 2 wish to go together if possible. If you take 2 they can share a room if needed. They need to get to various places and pick ups but I could help with all that shuffling around to schools and rehearsals etc so you needn’t feel stressed about trying to fit that in if that helps. Have a look and ask any questions - still some things need to be tied down, but this is the general plan. Some of the coloured bits high light where they need to be dropped off or picked up, but as I said we can help with that. Karen is having a meeting with the students (the Logan ones in Group 2 are mostly in mid teens) this coming Saturday and it would be great if we had some names to give them of your family members so they can buy pressies for when they stay. Remember there is $100 per student that we can give you to help with costs, and pick up spots(eg Hyperdome) canoe more flexible if that helps you decide you can take on for two. Also LYME people- you are all invited to join with BRYO and Shailer Park High and the Japanese Taiko and Dance Troupes from the Gold Coast in the Monday night rehearsal, and the Friday night (16th) Concert at Lingo Lin Hall in Ormiston College. Please let me know if you can come! We are playing Grandia, Queensland Matilda, Radetzky March and a Japanese piece Beautiful Name. If you can’t play, then please come to support us Tickets: $15/$10 book online at https://www.trybooking.com/BEDQA Come along and say hi to Ueda and Karen from last year’s tour. Anyway, thanks for seeing if you can take some for us - If you can take some host students please contact me and I'll send you the itinerary.. PS - we are in urgent need of 2 Child Car seats for Ueda’s children. They are 2 and 4 years old- 90 cm and 110 cm high so will need car seats - so if you can help please do - just over one week 10 - 18 August.
