23.01.2022 SEASON UPDATE - ALL THINGS COBRAS - WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT BEN HEAD After the first round Beenleigh President Darren Williams and I had a conversation about the direction of both clubs into 2015. We broached the subject of combining our resources to stop competing for players, volunteers and supporters. We then set up an informal meeting and discussed some non-binding parameters of a proposal. The main point was that all games were played out of Tansey Park....Continue reading

23.01.2022 LOGAN CITY COBRAS AGM OUTCOME Hi all. For those that werent at the meeting today their was no AGM held as we didnt have the required numbers due to the former President, Vice President and Treasurer not attending. However in the best interests of the club we are starting a new incorporated entity. It is currently under Logan City Cobras AFC Inc. We will be starting new as Logan City Cobras Australian Rules Football Club Inc as it was found that in a Special General Meeting ...held back in 2014 to become the South East Suns that the old Inc entity was to fold. We dont want to have to worry about any potential issues from the old Inc name. We will be still be known as the Logan City Cobras and playing under this name though. We have 9 dedicated people on the committee and now need to sit down with AFLQ and the cricket club and go from there to start off with at least a team in one of the Friday night competitions. We will of course look to have both a Seniors and Reserves team in one of the Saturday competitions if we can get the numbers and be financial. This will depend on negotiations with AFLQ and the cricket club of course if this was to be a possibility. In addition we will also look to have a masters side (over 35s) to play every second weekend but will be dependent like the possibility of seniors and reserves sides on numbers and agreement with AFLQ and cricket club. Thank you to each and everyone of you for putting your hands up to be on the committee or help in other capacities. Also a big thank you to our local Councillor Cr Stacey McIntosh for your help and offer of assistance moving forward. Your guidance and support is greatly appreciated! We are proud to announce our committee and delegates as follows: Committee 1. President - Dale Marshall 2. Vice President - Bradley Pike 3. Treasurer - Jake Smith 4. Secretary - Christine Machielsen 5. General Committee Members - Zacharey Locke, Carolyn Young, Jay Keegan, Marie te Whenua & Ray Harris Delegates 1. Risk Management Officer - Daniel Rowett 2. Volunteer Coordinator - TBA 3. Council Liaison Officer - TBA 4. Social/Events Coordinator - TBA 5. Canteen Coordinator - TBA 6. Marketing/Promotions Officer - TBA 7. Past Players Coordinator - Mark Kennedy. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact President Dale Marshall by either phone 0468 422 427 or email - [email protected] Carn the Mighty Cobras!

22.01.2022 POST CARRARA GAME FUNCTION Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 5:00 PM by Micheal Young Sent to: Everyone. The Burnside Tavern in Yatala has given Logan an opportunity this year to raise money by selling meat trays there for many weeks now, and we have begun building a good partnership with them. ... We are hoping to get them on board as a sponsor for next year. So with this in mind we have organised with the Tavern to have our Post Game Drinks after our round 14 game against Carrara there instead of Fitzys. They have agreed to put on happy hour prices for us for an hour or 2 from when we first arrive. It is also a big night for the Burnside as they are having a rock band "Diva Demolition" (who toured last year with KISS & MOTLEY CRUE) launch their CD on the night. We need to show some club representation there to get them on board so get on down boys and have a great night. No excuses we all have to drive past there on the way home so stop in a help build the Cobras fan base. See more

22.01.2022 We hope you like our new logo!

22.01.2022 To all the Cobby boys dont forget to pay Dale for your Jumpers...we allocated that money for end of year trip and Trophys. IDale has the List of who has paid.

18.01.2022 On behalf of those who were involved at the Logan City Cobras we are deeply saddened to advise that former player Brett Jeffreys has passed away in sudden and unforseen cirumstances. We would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to Bretts family and friends at this difficult time. Those of you who knew Brett would all agree that he was a handy footballer and an all round great guy that will be deeply missed. The world has certainly lost one of the good guys. Brett was ...proud to play with his brothers in Anthony Jeffreys and Tui Nichols at the Cobras and they too enjoyed wearing the red and green and going into battle with Brett. For those of you that would like to attend Bretts funeral please note that it is being held at the Great Southern Memorial Park in Carbrook (1774-1794 Mt Cotton Road, Carbrook Queensland 4130) from 3pm this Friday 14th December 2018. Bretts Sister in Law Kristina Neale has set up a go fund me page to assist the family with Bretts funeral costs. It would be greatly appreciated if people could kindly donate. Please visit gf.me/u/n9yux4 to kindly donate. Gone but not forgotten Brett. Forever part of the Cobra family!

17.01.2022 BRING BACK THE COBRAS!!! Word on the grapevine is that the Cobras are looking to come back into existence with an aim to play in 2018 in the Friday Night competition as well as looking to have an over 35s team in the Masters competition. If we can get enough players then we could field a Seniors and Reserves team in one of the Saturday competitions. The following roles need to be filled. Are you willing to help out???... 1. President - Dale Marshall 2. Vice President - Bradley Pike 3. Treasurer - Jake Smith 4. Secretary - Christine Machielsen 5. General Committee Members (no limit) - Zacharey Locke, Carolyn Young, Jay Keegan. The following roles arent mandatory but would greatly assist the club if people can do them: 1. Risk Management Officer - Daniel Rowett 2. Volunteer Coordinator; 3. Council Liaison Officer; 4. Social/Events Coordinator; 5. Canteen Coordinator; 6. Marketing/Promotions Officer. 7. Past Players Coordinator - Mark Kennedy. Who of you are able to do one of the aforementioned roles? We need as much support as we can get as it takes a lot of dedicated people to run a club. Also we will need to buy football jumpers, shorts and socks as AFLQ brought out their current logo two years ago and it is now mandatory that all clubs have it. As we are starting with no money in the bank we will need sponsors to get onboard. If you are keen to sponsor or be on the committee or help in anyway can you let us know by either replying here or sending us a facebook message.

12.01.2022 Good evening everyone, Unfortunately the Mighty Logan City Cobras will not be coming back into existence, well not at Tansey Park anyway. The Loganholme Cricket Club have advised that it will cost us $2,600 a month to rent the facilities from them. We queried them as to how this rent was so high and have been advised that based on the last 3 years of the cobras come suns that the overall monthly cost worked out to be $2,750 for all utilities. We have to respect their costing...s seeing as they now hold the lease. Unfortunately $2,600 is not a cost we can cover regardless of the fact that we have sponsorship and the playing numbers for at least a Friday night team. It is heart breaking that we wont be back but Im very proud of those people that put their hands up to support on the committee, delegates and sponsors to bring back the cobbies. The dream has been crushed but never say die. Who knows what the future holds. Hopefully one day the Mighty Cobbies will be back! Kind Regards, Dale Marshall President

12.01.2022 A big thanks to Clint and his band.....Enjoyed by the 25 Loyal supporters that the club put on to well after midnight ....Great night after an even better double win !
