14.01.2022 This week in our library we have a fantastic display for classes to enjoy. We are celebrating NAIDOC week and Remembrance Day.

14.01.2022 Our students for the next 2 days will have a visitor from Oral Health Metro South team talking about healthy teeth and gums. They had a talk on how to brush their teeth with some students given the chance to have their teeth checked by the staff. Some of the students will also get to have their chance tomorrow with the Oral Health nurse so please remember to return the notes already as it is not too late to have your child’s teeth checked.

LOGAN CITY SPECIAL SCHOOL SPORTS DAY FRIDAY 24 JULY 2020... 9.15 AM With a big thanks to Carl, the children have already been down on our newly marked oval, enjoying the weather and practicing for the Big Day! Parents, Carers, Families & Friends are welcome to come along on the day, remembering we are still following regulated current COVID-19 guidelines. For the first time, our yearly Sports Day will have Check In Stations for Visitor & COVID-19 sign ins and wrist band identification. Please be understanding, patient and mindful of the 1.5 metre distancing from others wherever possible & try to avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs & kisses. Know we are all doing our best, under unusual circumstances and we are all in this together! Even more importantly, remember why we are all here. It ’s always about the children! Hope to see you then and you have a wonderful, cheer filled day watching & participating in our best Sports Day Ever!

09.01.2022 Important announcement Tomorrow’s SPORTS DAY is still going ahead as planned, but unfortunately no visitors will be allowed on school grounds.



08.01.2022 Applying for a Fair Play voucher Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child, which can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees with registered activity providers. There is a limit of 1 voucher per child per calendar year. Key dates... 6 July 2020: New round applications open. 7 October 2020: Applications close. 11 November 2020: Vouchers expire and must have been presented to an activity provider. 25 November 2020: Vouchers must be redeemed by activity providers. 1 Check if your child is eligible You can apply if your child: is a Queensland resident aged from 5 to 17 years (inclusive) at the time of application did not receive a FairPlay voucher this year holds, or whose parent, carer or guardian holds, a valid Department of Human Services Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it.

07.01.2022 A VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT........ Our Sports Day scheduled for tomorrow, Friday 24 July, has been postponed until next Friday 31 July. Unfortunatlely, we had to make that decision based on the bad weather predicted to come through in the next couple of days and the safety of everyone. Keep all the enthusasium, colour hunting and cheer practice going for another week, while keeping your fingers crossed for better weather!!!

03.01.2022 Parents/ Carers, Could $500 help with school costs? With this year placing increased financial pressure on families, the Saver Plus Program has proven to be a great way to help by providing $500 towards essential school costs as well as offering budgeting education and support.... The aim of the program is for eligible participants to achieve a savings goal of $500 , which is then matched by a further $500 per family which must be spent on education expenses. Saver Plus is funded by the Federal Government and has been delivered by community organisations across Australia for 15 years, assisting over 45,000 families. The matched savings has assisted with costs such as: School Uniforms and shoes Text Books and Stationary needs School Camps and excursions Sporting, Art, Dance or Music fees Laptops or iPads Sent from my iPhone

02.01.2022 A Very Important Announcement....... To all parents/carers, this morning we had young people behaving inappropriately near the school and we had a lockdown. Everyone was safe and were out of danger, Police attended and gave us the all clear. The safety of students, staff, parents, carers and our school community is paramount.
