This Aboriginal owned and run business was created by Husband and Wife team Danielle and Wayne who are both very passionate about their culture and being able to share it with others. Danielle is a proud Wulli Wulli woman from Central QLD, who manages the business. Danielle grew up in her home town of Theodore QLD where she, her husband Wayne and daughte...r Stella-May still live. Wayne is the Artist and is a proud Wiradjuri/Maranganji (Mardigan) man. Wayne’s family originates from Cunnamulla in South West QLD on Kunja country. His mother’s country is Mardigan country, in Quilpie. He also has family connections in Lightning Ridge on Yuwaalaraay Country, his grandmother’s country is along the Lachlan and Murrumbidgee Rivers on Wiradjuri country. Wayne’s family moved around a lot throughout QLD and NSW when he was growing up. He has done a lot of travel throughout his life. As a teenager Wayne’s uncle also named Wayne started teaching him about Aboriginal Culture and Lore. Along his cultural journey he met a lot of strong cultural men and this is what inspires his art which showcases dreaming stories and connections to Mother Earth. 19.01.2022 Our favourite rotary cutters are the OLFA brand. We have recently road tested the OLFA Endurance Blades and are very impressed. The blades are made from a tungsten steel and stay sharp for at last twice as long as a regular blade. Rotary cutters are great for cutting fabric, paper and film and are perfect for the sewing or craft room. Rotary blades are extremely sharp and should be handled with care (Keep out of reach of children). Dreamtime story behind the design: Australian Flora is particularly rich in aromatic plants such as eucalyptus, tea trees, boronias, and mints and these plants have always been considered especially suitable for treating respiratory diseases. Aborigines have used a large number of them for treating illnesses. Gracie Morton is a skillful & experienced artist who depicted plums in an excellent way. Australian Aborigines have... drawn on the resources of the environment for medicines. Many plants have been used, generally without elaborate preparation. Plant material is very often bruised or pounded to use as a poultice or extracted with water to be taken internally. Plants of medicinal values contain extra chemicals, tannins, latex, alkaloids which are useful for making many medicines. Her works are attractive, meaningful and very soothing. Although Central Australia is a desert with little rainfall during the year, it still has trees and desert vegetation of unique varieties. It is the home of the Spinifex grass land, various kinds of desert flowers, animals and many other natural gift...s. Little rainfall in summer or winter makes areas happy. You observe colourful flowers laughing in the whole area. It is hard to believe that you are in the desert. Acacia, wild orange, rock, wild passion fruit etc., are laughing to welcome you. 10.01.2022 The old saying of "The right tool, for the right job" is still true to this day. In the sewing and patchwork world, pins would have to be one of the most necessary tools needed. At Logan's Patchwork, all the staff are a big fan of the Clover Patchwork Pins (Fine) however sometimes other pins can be useful. The Glass Headed Pins are great because the heads will not melt when accidentally with a hot iron. The Flower Head Pins are easy to see and lay nice and flat to your work. ...The Fork Pins are excellent for sewing, when using them it is like two pins in one.
