23.01.2022 It's the dawn of the last day of our Year Six camp and the kids have been reflecting on a year of positive growth. We've had lots of fun, and aren't sure we are ready to come home just yet! Watch this space for updates on traffic for the return run this afternoon.
22.01.2022 Today is the LAST DAY to make your $8 payment for the swimming carnival! It would be fantastic to have as many kids as possible coming along for the event. Thank you to all who paid in early.
21.01.2022 Our 'Spooky Concerts' were a hit last week! Check out some of the photos from this special event. Thanks to Mrs Ram and Mr Howell for collecting some of the photos together and sending them through. Well done to all who performed, and thanks to our classes for being such a fantastic audience!
19.01.2022 Last week our Year Six team celebrated the end of their Leadership Project with a pizza party! Mr Cramb and the leadership team invited our leaders to share a slice and to reflect on how their skills as community leaders have grown and developed across the last academic year. It will be very exciting to see what will become of this talented and resilient crew through the years to come. Well done to all who participated!
18.01.2022 Our Year Sixes had an absolute blast at the water park! Buses are expected to arrive back at school close to 3pm. If you are waiting for your child at the school, please be mindful of social distancing measures and traffic at pick-up time. Thank you for your patience.
17.01.2022 The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front after the bloodshed of World War I. Over the past century, this moment has been adopted across the globe as a time to remember those who served and sacrificed in all wars and conflicts. Logan Village State School will be encouraging its staff and students to stop at 11am to reflect on the cost of conflict, and to remember those who paid the ultimate price in the name of our country. We would like to encourage you to do the same.
15.01.2022 This week LVSS hosted a visit from Toko-ton Taiko, giving our students in Years 4-6 an opportunity to experience the uniquely Japanese art form known as ‘Wadaiko’ (which translates to Japanese drum.) The students were entranced by the combination of rhythm, movement and the beautiful sound of the ‘fue’, a Japanese bamboo flute. It was a wonderful way to finish off the year of Japanese learning. ... (Sorry in advance to the parents of those students who have told Mrs Conway that they are now asking for a drum for Christmas!)
11.01.2022 Across the school a lot of our classes have been celebrating NAIDOC Week through creating artwork and sharing stories about the lands we live on and share. We would love to hear any stories of how YOU have been embracing NAIDOC in the comments section below!
09.01.2022 Thanks to all students, staff, and those in our community, who 'Remembered to Remember' last Wednesday. The losses suffered by armed forces around the world, as well as the impact on those left behind, should never be forgotten.
08.01.2022 One more week until Swimming Carnival payments close! Only $8 per student for a fun day of friendly competition (And a bit of relief from the summer sun!) Please make sure all paperwork is handed to your class teacher before the event, or kids won't be allowed on the buses. Chat with our office staff if you have any questions about the event.
