The report calls for more innovative housing solutions to meet the needs of older women. Older women represent a significant proportion of our residents at the Log Cabin Park, though the general public may not have thought of cabin park living as an option. Residents benefit from the security of tenure provided by the recently enhanced Residential Tenancies Act. Location Langwarrin is a leafy suburb with easy access to local services including public transport, hospital and GP services and Karingal Hub Shopping Centre. Cabin design all single bedroom cabins are private and self-contained. Sleeping areas are separate from living areas, which provide the opportunity to entertain visitors. Cabins include a large outdoor balcony space. Floor, ceiling and wall insulation as well as efficient split-system heating/cooling means that cabins are comfortable year-round. Community Environment The Log Cabin Park provides extensive common areas including gardens, BBQ area, playground and swimming pool for visiting grandchildren. The Log Cabin Park is a community environment where residents have the opportunity to form mutually supportive relationships. Affordability single bedroom cabin rental is $255 per week, plus power as metered. Residents are not required to sign complicated lock-in contracts with hidden charges and deferred fees. All charges are disclosed prior to occupancy and residents need give only 7 days notice if they want to vacate for any reason.
