25.01.2022 You would have heard about the latest RBA rate decision which was to reduce the cash rate to its lowest point in Australian history. It was reduced by 25 basis points to 1.5% this afternoon signalling a significant time for home owners in Australia. How does this affect you? Recently, lending institutions have moved out of sync of the RBA decisions. Some lenders have passed along only a portion of the RBA decision on rates. This affects how much interest is payable to the le...nder. Furthermore, lending institutions have also changed rates on Investment loans Vs Owner Occupied loans. There has been a lot of movement in the last 12 months. For this reason our recommendation to existing mortgage clients and anyone with an approval but who has not yet settled, is to wait until next week before making any decisions about lenders.
