21.01.2022 Hey guys. Firstly I want to start by saying WE LOVE YOU! Look, we know that you love us to and it gives us all the feels but there is something important that we need to address. Although LOIS. is a FREE magazine it is not FREE to produce. Working in print can come with a lot of hefty overheads especially when you are coming to market with a product that is provided to readers at no cost. We can only continue to provide LOIS. for FREE thanks to the wonderful support of our a...dvertising community. We have received many enquiries over the last few months for free or discounted business promotion. We certainly aren’t pointing any fingers or dissing anyone for asking (hell we would give it a crack too if we were in your business boots) but we need you to understand that LOIS. cannot continue to do the work that we do and support our community without selling our product. Which means selling our advertising space. If you want to know more about the importance of supporting small business our editor @mama.runs.a.magazine will be going live at 2:30 today to answer all of your questions. Peace & Love. #supportsmallbusiness See more

17.01.2022 The cat is well and truly out of the bag now. I can’t continue to hide this ballooning belly. Team LOIS. will have another mini intern come November and we couldn’t be more excited. Thanks so much for your love and support over this period of rest (Do parents truly ever rest?) Life is certainly about to get fuller and our family complete. #babynumber2
17.01.2022 So my lovelies, we need to talk. It’s time to shake off the pretence and get real. These last 11 months as a Mumpreneur have been tough. It's been a lot of late nights editing copy, early mornings designing advertisements, weekend fashion shoots and midweek meetings with Clara in toe. It's been exciting, overwhelming, heartwarming and exhausting. As much as I love LOIS. it's time to LOVE MYSELF MORE.... I have decided to take some much needed time away from the business. This means our upcoming Autumn 2019 issue will be our last in print for at least the next 12 months. Don't dismay LOIS. won't be disappearing completely. I will continue to share stories, creative content and words of inspiration via our blog until such time as I am able to catch my breath and reassess the magazines future format. LOIS. will be back, but for now I am going to take a breather, enjoy motherhood and take some well deserved time out with my family. I want to take this oppurtunity to THANK YOU for your overwhelming support of LOIS. and our collective vision to create a platform that inspires, connects and creates community. Be sure to stay connected with us via our social media channels and grab your copy from stockists from March 18th. Peace & Love Sam X @ Tasmania

15.01.2022 Be sure to check out the fascinating piece on Tasmanian rockstar scientist @rockatscientist written by the very talented @eveycurley26 ..... Now I have a confession to make, that due to MY (Sam) editing oversight the byline in our printed issue is incorrect. Full credit to Eve for this great piece..and apologies for screwing up your byline honey. I believe that if you make a mistake it’s best to OWN IT! 11.01.2022 A note from our editor this Anzac Day- I’ve been a serving member of the Royal Australian Navy Reserves for over 10 years and today holds an incredibly special place in my heart. Today I spend my time in quiet reflection, there is no glory in war however I am incredibly grateful to those service men and women, past and present who have sacrificed so much for freedom. - Sam #anzac @pixabay
11.01.2022 A CALL FOR HELP - SAVE THE TROUBLESMITHS! The team at Troublesmiths would like to thank everyone who has supported them through the Youth Entrepreneurial Services Program period. The ‘Smiths have had life changing experiences and outcomes as a result of the initiative, with 56% of the 99 young people who commenced exiting to employment, self-employment or education, and a further 11% completing the entire six-month coaching and work experience program.... In addition to these outstanding outcomes, participants of the program have experienced significant non-vocational changes, with many making huge leaps towards employability. Sadly, despite their high success rate and hard work, unless they are successful in receiving funds within the next three weeks, the YES program will be forced to close on 25 May and all current participants will be exited on this date. As you can appreciate they are now at a critical point regarding the survival of their program. *What can you do?* Put your name to the cause! Troublesmiths have set up a list to collate the names of our supporters: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SaveOurSmiths Please add your name and share it widely with your networks. Share this post! Sharing this post will help let more people know of the position Troublesmiths are in and might just help in securing funding. Use your voice! The following people are decision makers and influencers in this space. You can contact them directly via email or social media, and lend your support to our request for funding, which they are all familiar with: Senator Carol Brown Labor Senator for Tasmania: [email protected] Senator Carol Brown Senator The Hon. 10.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all of my beautiful Mama friends and followers. Becoming a mother has been the single most joyous and challenging event of my life. I have such a newfound appreciation for Mother’s (especially my own) it’s a beautiful journey that has taught me so much about myself and my relationship with my Mum. I’ve been truly blessed with such a connected relationship with my Mum and I so looking forward to spending the day with her and my own little treasure. #amotherslove
