22.01.2022 I’m always picking up rocks, curious what this one is. #yortayorta #djadjawurrungcountry #bendigocreek #designnomaddiaries
22.01.2022 I’m fairly new to linocut and these are a couple of small first try test ones. Here I’m experimenting with my own handmade ink. The ink is made from Blackwood bark simmered and darkened with old iron scraps found out in the bush. I’ve made the ink at a consistency for painting and writing, then taken some and allowed it to evaporate until thick and tacky. Some more work to do on it, but pretty happy with it so far. #yortayorta #djadjawurrungcountry #ecoinks #makeink #handmadepaints #handmadeink #creativehear
21.01.2022 Sorting and doing some ink tests while enjoying the springtime morning sunshine, it’s interesting how each batch has a slightly different shade or slight granulation. I’ve made these inks over the past year and am now. #yortayorta #djadjawurrungcountry #naturalink #naturalinkmaking #creativeheart

20.01.2022 Yesterday I spent a couple of hours being filmed for the Bendigo Living Art Space ‘Sharing Process Collection’ Exhibition that opens online today. I’m doing an online workshop, making ochre and mineral paints. My. This was such an enjoyable experience, much thanks to Dave the videographer from twentyfour18productions. I’ve done videos for my work a few t...imes over the years and this has not always been the case. So thank you Dave. This little tree sketch is toward the end of the video showing the use of the my watercolour paints and how I paint trees and rocks. #djadjawurrungcountry #yortayorta #thesharingprocess #livingartsspacebendigo #ochrerocks #naturalpaints #handmadepaint. 19.01.2022 Beautiful gift from nature and community, this morning. The gum/resin from the Black Box tree on my walk had been just dripping from the trunk and branches. I tried to gather some, but was having trouble, the pieces were dropping from my hands as quick as I picked them up. Then I heard a voice come from seemingly nowhere, do you need a plastic bag for that? A man was sitting in his car having his lunch and watching my attempt. When I accepted the bag from him he said are you making dye with it? Such a nice and surprising little diversion and conversation on my iso walk. #djadjawurrung #yortayorta #handmadepaint #ecopaint #ochrerocks #oncountry #giftsfromnature

13.01.2022 Hands in clay would have been my first real art love. I was young, my babies were babies. After a long hiatus I get to put my hands in clay and find I still have the same love affair. These funny little tiles are rough and ready, but they speak to me as did creating them. Little dabbles are so good for my heart. TY @maysfire07
09.01.2022 When I lived in India, I made several visits to the Tak Mahal. ( after a few visits, I could have been the guide, if it weren’t for the ‘official guides needing to make their living! ). Anyway, this post isn’t so much about the Taj, but about the huge bats of pigment/ochre that is mixed up with lime and applied to the walls of the colonnade enclosing two sides of the grounds. I’m pretty sure it is an annual process, reapplying the surface, which is kept in pristine condition. I couldn’t resist dipping my finger into the mix #tajmahal #ochre #yortayorta #mumtaz #naturalpaint #designnomaddiaries #agra #india
