17.01.2022 Well that was 2019. 48 shows featuring around 150 artists, both local and from as far afield as Canada and the UK. And tonight was the last gig and celebration of the season. Shannon Bourne delivered a blistering set, partly fueled by an audience member who suggested he should just play a song instead of talking about the song as folkies do. Then Nick Charles delivered some beautiful guitar playing to an obviously heat affected audience that kept talking (and talking and tal...king). Jimi Hocking grabbed centre stage and used his natural energy to wear the audience down, then Geoff Achison demonstrated what a mature and professional performer he really is, also pointing out that he is famous (and not many people know that). After a short break, Nick, Geoff and Jimi did a very entertaining set all together: truly the guitar band from hell. The set was capped off by a fairly cosmic version of 'Santa Claus is coming to town', and finally an even more cosmic version of Billy Thorpe's hit 'Most people I know (think that I'm crazy)'. The sound guy went nuts. Lomond Acoustica would like to thank these four wonderful entertainers for supporting us with their prodigious talent, and finishing off the year with a bang. 07.01.2022 Rod's announcement of Acoustica restart ... Lomond Acoustica Good news we are back for our 2 ledgendary annual Christmas shows at Lomond Hotel on Wednesday 16th and 23rd December.... December 16th - Alanna & Alicia Egan, Enda Kenny, Mandy Connell December 23rd - Jimi Hocking, Nick Charles,Ian Collard These shows will be held outside in the specially converted carpark. Being outside the shows will be 6p.m. - 9p.m Due to the artists doing it tough during the lockdown we are going to put a $10 door charge on the nights. All the money will go the artists on the night on top of their usual money they get paid for the evening. Bookings will be essential so contact Lomond Hotel 93801752 for bookings. As we are all well aware the music industry has done it hard over the past year so please support these nights.We would love to see you all again.
