21.01.2022 **Junior Cricket Training 4.30pm today** We welcome children to come & trial tonight before registration. ... For all registrations, click this link and select Next against the Long Plains Cricket Club. https://playcricket.com.au/club-finder From here, you need to make a choice whether your child wants to register for: 1. Junior Blaster: For the younger kids who want to be introduced to the basics of cricket with an emphasis on fun, skill-based games and activities (similar to Net-set-go and Auskick for those more familiar with the Winter sports). Kids will receive Junior blaster promotional packs with shirts, hats, water bottles, plastic bats, stumps etc. 2. Master Blaster: This is for the older kids who want to progress past just skill-based activities and move to modified games and learning technical skills in the fundamental disciplines of cricket. We would really hope that if kids are at this stage, they would register for LPCC Junior Cricket instead, but we appreciate that not all parents are able to commit to playing games against other teams in a home-and-away format. Just because kids are registered for Master Blaster wont mean theyre excluded from playing for LPCC when they can if you cant commit to the whole season but you might be able to go occasionally, we would LOVE to see you!! The only thing is we may have to give preference to the kids who commit to the junior team if we get full. Kids will get the Master Blaster kit as part of the registration. 3. LPCC Junior cricket: The exciting inaugural year for our new Junior team! Its for the kids that want the challenge of playing against other teams and honing their skills in a game situation. The bonus of being in the division we have entered, means we can modify the game at our discretion and so we can cater for different ages and abilities. The games are modified so everyone bats, everyone bowls and if you get out you just swap ends so no one misses out. We think as a rough rule-of-thumb, if your child can land 4 out of every 6 balls in an over on a shortened wicket we think theyre probably ready. We will play this by ear and if theyre losing confidence in a game because theyre not ready, we will remain flexible about how they balance between Master Blaster and Junior Cricket. Even if you can only commit to some of the games, we would love to see you. As mentioned in previous emails, if you want to register for Junior Blaster or Master Blaster, you will need to pay the full amount ($75 and $55 respectively) online and the club will reimburse you so everyone only pays $30 per child. This is generously subsidised by club to help grow junior cricket at Long Plains. Please ask about reimbursements at training. Cheers, Ed Edward Cay 0428 428 707

12.01.2022 Long Plains Cricket Club MILO in2CRICKET and MILO T20 Blast We had a really successful first season last year and we are excited about taking the kids' skills even further.
