23.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that Dr Thomas Kock will be joining us over the next 4 months while Jade Franklin is on maternity leave. Thomas loves all things Equine but his special interest is in Equine Reproduction. He originally hails from Denmark but has spent the last 20 years travelling back and forward to Australia to work in the breeding seasons of both hemispheres. In addition to providing on stud reproduction services to our largest Thoroughbred stud, Thomas will also ...be assisting Dr Isabel Collier at our AI and ET breeding facility at Clearview Stud. Thomas has extensive experience in both chilled and frozen AI in European horses and so we are excited to have his expertise for this years breeding season! He was a little too busy palpating mares this morning for us to get a good photo, but you will no doubt see him out and about over the next few months. Clearview Performance Horses See more

23.01.2022 The first foal by Yankee Rockstar has arrived here at NREVC! What a cracking colt out of Electrical Storm. Once again Yankee Rockstar is standing here for $1500... +GST. Here is your chance to breed to an exceptional young sire with a royal pedigree from the dam Aston Villa. Aston Villa is also the dam of Born To Rocknroll and Poster Boy who have both been setting the tracks on fire in recent times.

Here he is just under a year ago in recovery from Colic surgery. Thanks to Tasmanian Equine Veterinary Services Dr Catherine Charlton, owner, Brian and Trainer, Debbie for keeping us updated along the way. Well done Elton!

20.01.2022 First Embryo of the season! Breeding season is in full swing now.

19.01.2022 Spring is just around the corner and the competition season has already kicked off! With 93% of performance horses at risk of developing gastric ulcers, leading... expert Dr Frank Andrews discusses prevention and management with this challenging condition. The pH of a horse’s stomach is more likely to remain below 4 (meaning it’s more acidic and, thus, more at risk of developing ulcers) when the stomach is empty. Keeping free-choice forage available helps maintain a more alkaline environment. Remember that horses evolved eating many small meals throughout the day, and consequently the equine stomach secretes acid 24/7. Consuming small, but frequent, amounts of forage helps buffer the constant supply of acid. https://thehorse.com//tips-for-managing-gastric-ulcers-in/

12.01.2022 We at LEC would like to acknowledge the passing of a longstanding and loyal client in Mick Burles, the trainer of the now legendary The Cleaner, or Bill as Mick called him. We extend our condolences to his family. Mick was truly one of a kind and had an amazing relationship with Bill. The Cleaner’s feats and Mick’s straight talking, easy going, larrikin attitude rightly made them both journalistic gold. They truly brought Tasmanian racing to the attention of all of Australia. Vale old friend.

11.01.2022 An Australian product helping to fight resistance in gastrointestinal worms ‘Adding a supplement to your horses’ feed to reduce the worm burden on your past...ure sounds like a rich claim, but researchers recently tested an Australian product designed to do just thatand with positive results. In recent field trials a feed supplement (commercially available in Australia as BioWorma [from International Animal Health Products]) effectively reduced the gastrointestinal nematode (GIN) infectivity of pasture surrounding the feces of treated horses, the researchers said.’ https://thehorse.com//supplement-could-help-control-horse/
