25.01.2022 Thanks again to all of our parents for their ongoing support with all of the changes currently in place. Please note that students are not permitted to share food with their classmates. Unfortunately, this extends to items such as cupcakes for birthday celebrations (even where commercially packaged). Whilst we understand that this may be disappointing, we need to ensure the wellbeing of all students and follow department directives.

25.01.2022 Congratulations to all our families on their fabulous home learning this week. It has been great to see how positive you have all been. Please continue to contact us for any support you require. Have a relaxing weekend and we will see you all on line again next week.

25.01.2022 Please contact the school office today if you have not had a chance to book your parent teacher interview. Phone interviews will run from Monday afternoon next week.

24.01.2022 There will be no lunch orders for the remainder of term 2. We hope to resume at the start of term 3 as normal, however this will need to be assessed at the time.

24.01.2022 Book Club books have arrive and can be collected from the office tomorrow or Thursday morning. If you are not able to collect during this time, please contact the office.

23.01.2022 Dear parents, It is great to see we have made such a promising start to this new way of learning for term 2. We have had lots of terrific examples of remote learning coming through already this morning. Keep up the good work everyone! If you have had some difficulty with your child accessing their learning this morning please contact your childs teacher directly on their email, otherwise you can contact the school office on 51497210. We are only too happy to help as we want ...remote learning to be a success. We have loaned 30 of our devices to parents for students to access their learning remotely and many other parents have collected their childs workbooks and stationery for learning at home. We have a few devices left so please let us know if you still need one. I would also like to thank all parents for their patience while we set up remotely and encourage you all to continue to support your childs learning. Kind regards, Joel Fraser

22.01.2022 From Monday the school office will be attended between 8:30am and 10am or by appointment only.

21.01.2022 We are excited to welcome our junior students (F-2) back to the classroom tomorrow. Please remember to send your child with a drink bottle as the drinking fountains are not currently in use. Please follow the drop off and pick up times where possible and be mindful to practice social distancing in the school car park. Lastly, parents are requested to not enter the school grounds unless they have made prior arrangement to do so by phoning the school.

21.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope the remote learning continues to be a success at home. Please be reminded that if you are experiencing difficulty with any part of the remote learning program to get in touch with your childs teacher or contact the school office to discuss any difficulties and review expectations. We understand that there are many different dynamics in each family and at times varied arrangements will need to be put into place. In saying that, I continue to be impressed w...ith the learning program that is being offered and the interaction our students, with the support of parents, are having with the remote learning. In discussing arrangements with principals from other schools and hearing about various schools through the media, I believe we are doing an outstanding job and would like to commend students, parents and staff for their efforts. Keep up the great work. Another reminder that we are trialling different working arrangements for staff, beginning this afternoon. From 12:30pm today, teachers will be unavailable so they can use this time for planning next weeks program. This will be a good opportunity to complete an activity as a family or choose an individual task students are familiar with, so they should be able to work independently without needing any support. Teachers will also notify you when they are required to work on-site and will be unable to regularly respond to questions from students. The use of webex has been critical in the success of teachers and students/parents communicating the learning expectations, submitting learning tasks and for providing feedback. It has also been a great way for our students to connect with each other and maintain peer relationships. I am aware that some students are forming their own groups to send messages backwards and forwards which are not related to remote learning and purely for socialising. I strongly encourage parents to monitor all communication through this program to ensure their children continue to use it appropriately. Kind regards, Joel Fraser See more

12.01.2022 Tuesday 4 August will be a student-free day across Victoria to enable teachers, especially in rural and regional Victoria, to prepare for flexible and remote learning. Wednesday 5 August will be the first day of new arrangements for schools across Victoria. On-site supervision in rural and regional Victoria will be available to children whose parents cannot work from home, vulnerable children and any child with a disability only. If you meet one of these criteria and need to ...send your child to school, you must contact the school ASAP to have this approved. Children must not be at school without prior permission, if your child arrives at school without prior permission, you will be contacted to collect them. We anticipate we will receive more information today on which industries are considered essential, it is expected the restriction on who can attend school will be stricter this time. See more

11.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who has already returned the device they had on load from school. If you still have a device at home please endeavour to return it to the office this week. 11.01.2022 Hi everyone, you may have heard the recent announcement from the premier regarding new lockdown rules. There has been some confusion about whether or not our school will be affected. While I am yet to receive any official information from DET, I have seen information provided be Danny OBrien MP to say that school will return as normal in regional Victoria. If there are any changes in the next few days I will update this page. Kind Regards Joel Fraser

10.01.2022 We are continuing to try to source Internet Dongles for families with no internet at home. As I am sure you can all imagine they are very scarce at the moment. We again thank you for your patients and remind all families with a Telstra or Optus post paid mobile plan, these providers are currently offering additional free data during the pandemic. This free data can be activated in the appropriate mobile app. Please check via your service providers website for full details. It would be worth checking with all providers to see what they are able to offer.

10.01.2022 Mrs Doumas would like to request if all students can please try to bring a disposable container with a lid (a yogurt container or similar would be ideal) for their art project next week. Please feel free to send along extras if you have them for those students that may not.

09.01.2022 Hi everyone, We begin week two of remote learning and I would like to thank all parents who have been involved in setting their child up for success. It has been a steep learning curve and we continue to learn new things about how the Webex program works and how we can make remote learning easier for everyone. Our staff have been working tirelessly and I greatly appreciate their efforts. Just a reminder that the State Government is continuing to reiterate their message that t...hose who can learn from home must learn from home. If we continue to self isolate we will be able to get back to normal sooner. As I mentioned last week, if you are having difficulty with any part of remote learning, please contact your childs teacher in the first instance, before contacting the school office. Kind regards, Joel Fraser

09.01.2022 Just a quick note for those students involved in the State School Spectacular, Miss McDonald has done a terrific job of putting some packs together including a cd and written music for you to practice at home. These packs can be collected either this afternoon until 4pm or on Monday from 8:30am to 10am. If neither of these times suit, please make contact with the office on 51497210 to arrange another suitable time.

08.01.2022 We had a visitor to school this morning despite the lockdown, although they weren’t wearing a mask, they were a welcome sight. We hope to see more of him/her over the next few weeks.

02.01.2022 Hi everyone, We begin yet another week of remote learning and it appears that everyone has settled into a routine that works for them, which is really pleasing. I read an article from John Hattie over the weekend which relates to the effect of remote learning on students. John Hattie is a well known researcher in education and he has identified the things that work in education by completing thousands of meta-analyses. Our large focus on providing feedback to students about t...heir learning has come from his research as it has a large effect on successful student learning. His article was in reference to the impact of remote learning on students long term education. He found there was no significant negative impact on students from the lack of face to face teaching. He also referenced the use of technology on student learning and found minimal impact on students using technology as part of their learning. However, technology did allow for social contact between peers which he acknowledged was very important for students wellbeing. He went on to say that learning at home will not be the same as learning at school and that is ok. While we are all going through a reasonably difficult period of time, it is important that we continue to connect with each other and do the best that we can. Thanks Joel Fraser

02.01.2022 Dear Parents, Thank you for your support with your childs learning, whether it be remote learning at home or on-site learning at school. Please remember that all students are expected to access remote learning from home, those who can learn from home must learn from home. Its been great to see the many photos students are sending through of them spending time with their favourite pet, please keep them coming throughout the day. Enjoy the upcoming weekend and I hope all of o...ur students spoil their mums as best they can this Mothers Day. Kind regards, Joel Fraser

01.01.2022 Following advice from the Department of Education and Training we will be moving to remote and flexible learning from Term 2, to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. The Departments latest advice on coronavirus can be found at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus It is impor...tant that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with parents and carers shortly, via email, with further details of what remote and flexible learning will look like at our school. In the meantime, you might find it useful to look at the Departments Learning from Home website. It provides resources and guidance for teachers and parents and carers. https://www.education.vic.gov.au//Pa/learningfromhome.aspx Please continue to stay safe and healthy. See more
