23.01.2022 7s season almost upon us, here’s a great opportunity for girls aged 12-16.

21.01.2022 Dear Longhorns, Please be aware all current programs are postponed based on health advice for the Covid-19 pandemic. We will pick up the rugby ball again in time when safe to do so.

21.01.2022 Some greats in this club. Bugger TV deals, get to Eridge Park and around the Illawarra this season and watch it live and free. Spend some dollars in the process at the grounds and support grassroots. #longhorns2020vision

20.01.2022 Over the last 12 or so weeks life has changed in many ways for our own safety and others. We have done this well as a nation and all to give our health system a chance to prepare and be ready if needed. As we know all sports have been impacted very much so, but because of good decisions we have been seeing return to training in sports under restrictions. At this time it is good for players to prepare and develop with more resources available than ever on the web. We urge you ...to keep going and build your skillset and fitness levels as there will be a time to get on the park again with less restrictions to some normality. When further restrictions allow, we have some special plans to roll out so we urge you to keep an eye on this space for announcements to come. In the meantime, if you need anything to help your development, our gift to you is our assistance so please send us a message through this page to get in touch.

03.01.2022 Good morning rugby family, We are very close to getting some news as to how and when grassroots rugby will be up and running. It is the intention of IDRU Ju...niors to have some form of junior rugby played in the 2020 season if Government guidelines permit. Below is the update from NSW Country Rugby Union regarding the state of play. Currently the message is clear, no training is to take place just yet but watch this space. COVID UPDATE regarding Rugby Return to training/ play: (thanks to NSWRU staff for pulling together the below information) I hope this finds all well. You will all be aware of the Premier’s announcement on Sunday about NSW moving their version of the National Cabinet’s Step 1 of the Roadmap to Recovery. In line with the easing of COVID restrictions, Community Sport is to be allowed to commence non-contact training in groups of no more than 10. The Premier announced that we would be able to take these steps from Friday 15th May, which is great; however, there is some devil in the detail. The Office of Sport has been in contact with our councils and have re-affirmed that the NSW Public Health order remains in force and community sports training/activities are not yet permitted on sports ovals. The Office of Sport has also advised that, in consultation with the Premier’s office and the NSW Chief Medical Officer, they are preparing a framework for the return to Community Sport in NSW. The expectation is that the Office of Sport will far enough advanced with this by Friday, to allow the health order amendment to be passed and enable allow Community Sport to start training again. Whilst I know people are anxious to get going, and this seems bureaucratic, it is a very important step to get to a NSW framework or specific set of conditions for all sports and councils to work with. We need to deal with some inconsistencies between terminology, naming conventions and conditions that are in the various publications of National Cabinet, the AIS and different states in terms of easing of restrictions. If we can have something at hand, which is specific to NSW, then it is to all our benefit and we can all work to the same plan. SUMMARY: Until NSW State Government & NSW Office of Sport give community clubs and councils the green light we are not yet permitted to start training. We will know more this Friday (as indicated by Government/ Office of Sport) as to where NSW Government are up to in regards to the public health order and community sport in NSW If this is lifted on Friday NSWCRU will be sending out information regarding Return to Training/ Play to help Clubs, Competitions, Match Officials and Coaches return to play as quickly and safely as possible July is still looking likely for recommencement competition time frame for all our competitions so continue to work towards that as there are still 2 stages/ steps to getting back playing the game we all love. NSWRU will be liaising directly with the Office of Sport in the next two days, and will definitely have another update for you all on Friday.Take care out there, stay healthy and look after each other. 02.01.2022 I just spent two days at the NSW Gen Blue 16/17s at Waratahs HQ. Here's a couple of prep shots before warmup this morning. I was privileged to observe the Waratahs coaching staff help the boys yesterday and today take a team with many of the best 16/17s players from across the state in trial games today. Great experience to see these kids grow in the game and to see our next gen working well.
