23.01.2022 TENNIS CLUB UPDATE 2nd June, 2020 With the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions, as of Wednesday 3rd June the courts will be available for hire for both members and non-members with the following restrictions in place: - Singles and Doubles play is now allowed - ALL bookings must be made prior to playing through email to [email protected] or through facebook messenger to the club's page... - Courts will be available from 8 am to 6 pm - Court hire is $10 per court/per for any non-members, even if they are playing with a member. - Please limit toilet use to emergencies only - Balls can be provided if notice is given - Adhere to social distancing rules and no congregating between points or after games - Wash hands before you arrive and bring hand sanitiser with you if possible - Spectators are not permitted at this point in time Your cooperation and support to follow these guidelines is appreciated! As of Saturday the 16th, courts will be available for hire for both members and non-members. 10.01.2022 Longreach Tennis Tournament! The Covid Cup! With everything happening this year we are looking to run a singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournament with some changes. We are looking at the finals being the 16th and 17th October, but with lead up games being played with some flexibility in the proceeding two weeks. So, if you are interested in playing in the above sections it will be $10 per person/ tournament. ... By this Sunday morning we need your name/ names, a contact (if you aren’t a regular), what tournament you want to play in and any particular dates or times (ie can’t play nights) between the 5th and 17th October. 04.01.2022 What a brilliant afternoon! It was fantastic to get juniors back on the court and see them having fun. The opportunity to listen to the great Robert Barty was a brilliant experience to hear about how his daughter Ash became not just the amazing tennis player, but amazing person she is today. Massive thank you to all the helpers who lent a hand and Michael Lloyd for his work behind the scenes. We are fortunate to have such a great community behind the club!

03.01.2022 Fair Play Vouchers are now available. Longreach Council has received a limited number of vouchers and it is a first come first serve basis. Parents, Carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child, which can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees.... You can apply if your child: Is a Queensland resident aged from 5 to 17 years (inclusive) at the time of application; Did not receive a Fair Play voucher this year If you have already received a vouchers this year you are not eligible. If you did receive a voucher at the beginning of the year, you are still able to redeem it at your chosen club or organisations. (If your club still has the voucher, they are still able to redeem them through Sport and Rec.) Also before you apply for a Fair Play Voucher please check to see if the club or organisation is starting up for the remainder of 2020. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to the Council. With Tennis Coaching coming up later this year, this is a good opportunity for parents to save some money.
