Our awesome team of volunteers spent their Saturday putting up walls, connecting the lights and making sure the Shed is going to be amazing! A massive thank you to all involved! The Shed is coming along nicely, and we can’t wait to share it with the community soon!

Simply turn up with your kids, sign them in, and get them in the line to complete their proficiency swim & survival float. ... 20.01.2022 Last weekend saw the first session of Nippers for the 2020/21 season kick off! With great conditions on the beach, our Nippers had a lot of fun with both land and water activities. What a great way to start the season!

20.01.2022 The walls are up! Longy's temporary clubhouse, aka "The Shed", is quickly taking shape! Next up, the flooring will be put in, followed by inside partitions and toilet blocks. At this rate, the new structure will be built and fitted by the commencement of the Nippers season on November 21st. Less than one month to go! We enter this season with a council approved plans for a new club house, which will see construction begin in the new year. 13.01.2022 The flags are down at Long Reef beach. In consultation with the Northern Beaches Council and Surf Life Saving NSW, the decision was made yesterday to lower the flags on all 21 beaches from Manly to North Palm beach. The Northern Beaches Council Lifeguards will be at all 21 Northern Beaches locations providing surveillance. The SLS Northern Beaches branch will also be boosting its Support Operations resources to respond in case of callouts or emergencies. Our President Peter ...Kinsey says, We are in full support of the decision made to cancel volunteer patrols. We urge all residents on the Northern Beaches to support the directives of the NSW Government to stay at home across the weekend, and to get tested if you have even mild symptoms." 10.01.2022 #RESCUE // Northern Beaches 12 along with the Northern Beaches Lifeguard Supervisor, this afternoon, were tasked to an over turned boat off Collaroy/Long Reef. ... The Collaroy RWC and Support Ski 3 were further tasked alongside PolAir. Collaroy and Long Reef call out teams where also activated but where stood down as Support Ski 3 had retrieved the 4 persons in distress. The 4POI were returned to shore and handed over to waiting Ambulance and Police Crews. The boat crew from Drummoyne were fishing when they got on trouble and over turned, 1 person was transferred to hospital. Well done to our Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches Support Operations Teams, a great effort and result for our teams assisting the very lucky persons in trouble. The boat crew are now having to answer to Police in relation to essential travel and social distancing. Be safe, be a Lifesaver and Stay Home. #surflifesavingsydneynorthernbeaches #slssnb #snb

07.01.2022 Long Reef Members: due to SLSNSW and Government regulations - and for the safety of our members, patrollers and community - the clubhouse is CLOSED until further notice. Sadly, Club facilities are closed to all members other than the Emergency Response Team and Council Lifeguard. This includes access to the gym, main hall and bathrooms, board/boat shed, etc. ... In addition, all events, gatherings, and activities are suspended. This impacts: competitions, surfboat rowing, IRB and Bronze Training, the use of the gym, and Sea Monkeys activities. We will keep you updated of any changes.

07.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that the annual Club Championships will be happening again this season! This year, the Club Championship events will include swim, run, boards, sprints and some new events soon to be announced. Activities will take place over four rounds, where competitors will receive points for every event they compete in. After each round, the points will go towards the overall Club Champion, to be announced at the annual Longy dinner! The planned dates f...or Club Champs this season are: Round 1: Sunday 13 December, 2020 Round 2: Sunday 31 January, 2021 Round 3: Sunday 14 February, 2021 Round 4: Sunday 14 March, 2021 Club Champs is open to all Bronze Medallion and SRC holders of any ability, and for the first time ever, we will be inviting Nippers to compete! If you’re an U11 - U13 Nipper and want to compete at a higher level, this is your chance to go head to head with the big kids. Together we patrolled, swam, paddled, rowed, ran & rescued. The season may have ended early, but we showed up and displayed our outstanding service - Longy style. 03.01.2022 Due to poor weather conditions, Bronze and SRC training was moved to Shelley Beach this morning. The new location didn’t disappoint, however, because the group was able to spot some natural wildlife, including wobbegongs and a bull ray!
