24.01.2022 Well winter has finally hit us this week and you might be thinking with these shorter and colder days it might be time to think about using the clothes dryer again. Now if you haven't used it for a while it may pay to check a few things. Have a look at your power lead to make sure its not damaged and no little beasties have been chewing on it. If that all looks good then just open up the dryer door and have a bit of a look around inside the dryer to make sure it all looks OK. Give the drum a bit of a spin to make sure its free and you can't hear any strange noises, and finally clean out any lint you can see and take off your lint filter at the front of the door and give that a good lean. if you have a condenser type dryer you can remove the condenser and give that a good clean. Ok now your ready to put your clothes in and start drying

12.01.2022 Well g'day everybody it's been a little while since my last post. Today I want to talk about RCD's or in in the non tech talk your safety switches. How many of you check they actually work. It's not much good having a safety switch if they don't work. There is a test that you can do to check that they are working. On each safety switch is a small button. If you press this it will trip the switch and let you now that the mechanism is working. If it doesn't trip or is a bit slow or sticking than call your electrician to check it.

12.01.2022 Always good to walk out of Goondawindi hospital as it means I have finally finished testing the DDHS RCD's for the next 6 months. This is something we all should do at home, every 6 months push that little test button on the safety switches. No good having them if they don't work.

07.01.2022 People often ask me what brand of appliances they should buy. Well there is a lot of variables involved. How big do you need it eg washing machines 6, 8,10Kg how many place settings for a dishwasher or do you entertain a lot. How much room do you have. What is your budget. After all these questions are answered, my suggestion is to look at brand with known reliability and easy access to parts for later on. 07.01.2022 If you have a good look at this picture you will see an uninvited guest. Those rotten gekos get into everything including your aircon PCBs. Doing a bit of homework and found that mothballs can be a deterrent for them. You can also seek professional advise from people like Lloyd from Lloyd Courtney Pest Services. Unfortunately still waiting to find out how much a new PCB will be, but I'm guessing not cheap
