18.01.2022 Every now and then I'm asked to produce photography of not just what is in front of me, but also something different;to produce something abstract, "something arty". The source image is very simple, a close up shot of a drum of wire used for major electricity transmission. I looked around in the main storage area, and considered which product might make a good foundation image. This was produced 11 years ago. Unfortunately I didn't keep a record of the gradual working progressions. First the original source. Second a first flip and flop composite, Third, one of the many "final" versions. My aim was to produce something abstract with an Art Deco feel. It's entirely photographic, with colour tones, gained from an original solid blue sky colour and then changes to hues and saturation.

10.01.2022 Although a lot of my photography is quite normal, I do enjoy experimenting. So, again this falls into the "something arty" category. From 2018. 66 studio portraits of the same person shot in just two sessions. Questioning gender, day into night; view it as you see it. This resulted in a very "specific" or "vague" (dependent on whether you were client or photographer) brief, from an Energy client who owned and ran a couple of power stations in Queensland Australia. I'd ...Continue reading

05.01.2022 Just to show I dont just shoot "arty". This is the building Rhapsody, on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia - pre-dawn 24th March 2016. Shot on a Canon 5DSR and 17mm TS, F10 Aperture, 2 secs Shutter, 200 ISO for the nerds out there. I do all my own post production. An annoying light in the wrong place, Telstra junction boxes in ridiculous places, ugly street signs, various interior lights on when they shouldn't be, and several builders trucks/utes in unhelpful places gave me a few retouching challenges. I left one of the titling windows, open, just to ensure it anyone with OCD would be challenged by that
