We will also have donation boxes on the night for cash donations. If any creative has some work they would like to donate please send us a message . While we always are happy to champion the work of our artists, please contact them directly if you wish to know information about their exhibitions and work as we are simply the hosting venue. Having said that, we CAN let you know that David Hourigans exhibition opening hours will be 9.30am-3pm weekdays and 10am-5pm weekends. Opening 6pm Friday. ... See you then!

16.01.2022 Some of you may have seen the FB live video tour I made last week of David Hourigans Small Acts exhibition hosted here at Long Space which closed early due to Covid-19. Yesterday I was contacted by Marian Scholten, the artist behind the dancing chickens mural on the old chicken shop that David had meticulously reproduced in miniature. She lovingly recounted the story behind the mural - the relationships and the history that preceded it, and her celebration of the lost person... that it commemorates. Its beautiful and I asked her permission to share it which she gave. This embodies the true spirit of the Inner Western Suburbs, and to me, represents why art and story need to continue to thrive. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.

16.01.2022 Between 5.30pm to 8.00pm, 17 20 September, the windows of Newport’s Long Space Gallery will come alive with the work of artist Joe Blanck, so if you are out d...oing your daily exercise, walk on by! From street artist to scenic artist, now creature designer and builder, Joe spent six years at Creature Technology Company on productions including Walking with Dinosaurs, How to Train Your Dragon, and KING KONG before co-founding A Blanck Canvas. He leads the A Blanck Canvas team to deliver end to end large productions, from concept to technical delivery, performance, and finishing. You might have seen some of the A Blanck Canvas ‘guardians’ roaming around Seaworks earlier this year. The guardians (large sculptural puppets) are now hibernating during lockdown awaiting the opportunity to roam Seaworks again. Find out more about Long Space Gallery: https://www.longspace.com.au/

13.01.2022 Starting Tuesday next week, Long Space is hosting a "window exhibition" for Bea Jones, called Skyline. Small paintings on wood from Bea's solitary walks in Hobsons Bay during lockdown. This is part of our 100 Works in the Windows attempt during covid, handing our windows over to local artists in Hobsons Bay. While the gallery itself is still unable to open, you can view the works in the windows and purchase via the artist contact: [email protected]

13.01.2022 Hi everyone! Due to the ever changing situation with Covid 19, and our responsibility to the public good, this exhibition may likely close early. So I strongly recommend that if you were planning to see these incredibly intricate works, then head in this weekend if you can. We have a lot of interest from people still wanting to check them out and were maintaining social distancing and hygiene measures as we dont want to be irresponsible, which is part of the reason we woul...d likely close the exhibit early. So come this weekend if you want to see these amazing pieces. Also due to Covid 19, Long Space will be shutting its doors permanently and closing business so this is the last chance to see it with an exhibition open. While we are sad as we spent a lot of time and effort making the place lovely, we cannot sustain a commercial lease with no arts business running it. Open 10-5 today and tomorrow at Long Space, 419 Melbourne Rd, Newport.

12.01.2022 Hello all, Between 4-5 today Collin Scott and I are handing out 50 free packs of colour gels and transparency to families to help create our Winter Windows sha...dow projection event starting next week. Were at 419 Melbourne Rd, Newport - Long Space. Please come and collect one so we can show your work and light up the darkness through winter. You dont need to pick up a special pack to participate though - you likely have paper and scissors (and cellophane if you want colour) in your home. Only 50 packs available until stocks last. One per family. Please respect social distancing and hygiene laws, and please do not expose us to illness if you are sick or feel symptoms. Hand sanitizer will be at the door. 03.01.2022 Apologies to anyone planning to come out to see #winterwindows this evening - the last two days we appear to have had some surging power issues on site and both... our overhead projectors have blown today just in time for our evening projections. Were going to try get them fixed and will update you soon, but due to renewed covid restrictions this weekends works may need to be postponed at least until next week.
