At the start of this year I was rapt that Peter Harrison took on the role for 2020 so he was my first port of call for 2021 . I went to speak to Pete fully expecting a no as he was unsure on the role the first time around . So I am extremely happy that Pete is going to be our reserves coach for 2021 , a fantastic clubman and I am sure he will be a fantastic leader and coach . This kid is what Longwarry Fc is all about and everyone that plays with him is better for it. ... Riley Rundell Buy a power ball ticket, you got more chance of winning that than catching this little prick. Last years Grand Final B.O.G! Rockets pace and skill absolutely cuts teams to shreds and gives opposition coaches nightmares. Jedd Serong The smiling assassin kicked 37 goals last season and stood up in big moments in the big games. No one trains harder than Jedda and it shows with a bigger tank than most midfielders, he has his opponent blown up by halftime.

Even though we didn’t get on the park , Cory was committed to the cause right to the end . He was honest enough to tell me early that he wasn’t sure he could commit to 2021 as a coach and we had his blessing to find a new coach . I can’t thank him enough and I hope he stays on as a player next year . #gocrows21

20.01.2022 On behalf of the LFNC , I would like to wish Donnie Anderson a happy 90th birthday for today. Donnie , a Life Member , has given years of service and has filled every role there is to do at a Football club. Donnie was Team Manager in the 68 premiership team and has work tirelessly ever since to get the Club another Senior premiership, so I was thrilled we were finally able to deliver that in 2019.... I have personally had the chat with Donnie as a player, Coach and President a few times over the years I have known him, still value those talks to this day. Happy birthday Donnie , have a great day.

18.01.2022 It’s with great sadness I am letting you all know that one of I life members has passed away , Daphne Marlene Johns. Marls , as we all know her , was a permanent fixture in the Longwarry Football club canteen since about 1976 . She was on either the general or social committee every year as well . You would be hard pressed to find a more loyal supporter , I don’t think Brody Shelby or Rocket ever played a bad game . There is no better salad rolls than those made by Marls , e...ven had her own table to make them on and lookout if you put to much tomato on , club had to make money . Marls Funeral will be held this Friday the 14th at 11am , but due to the current COVID-19 restrictions only 10 people can attend. If you would like to participate in the service, you can watch on the following link , www.nielsenfunerals.com.au . The family would like to invite as many people as possible to go to the Longwarry Football ground and park around the oval along the second row (If possible) and leave the front of the Clubrooms free of obstruction, so Marls can do a lap of honour on the way to her final resting place . The lap of honour will take place between 12pm-12.15pm , toot your horn as she passes by . Please stay in your cars and adhere to all the current stage 3 restrictions. We will miss you Marls , I’m glad you got to see a premiership.

18.01.2022 A year ago today we made history, now we are putting the pieces together, to get back there!We are wrapped to announce some re-signings for 2021. Jay Wells Whilst after a big pre season unfortunately we never got to see Jay run out in crows colours, but true to his word we will see it next year. One of the most dynamic forwards at local level in Gippsland we are all excited to see him fit straight into an already formidable forward line. ... Juz Mccleary Has also signed back on at the crows. Juzzy was an integral part of our 2019 premiership and a crucial piece of our backline, and adding a wealth of big game experience and leadership to our side. Keep a look out for some more big names that will be added to the list in the coming days.

Andy was appointed as 16s coach for this year so we are rapt that he has decided to take on the same group as they step up the 18s . Andy has a great group of kids to work with and we are confident that he will bring out the best in them . Joining Andy for 2021 will be Leigh Stanfield as his assistant. A dream team of coaching was engaged for the 16s for 2020 and we hope to have them all back for 2021 . As a club , we are confident that our Juniors are in good hands with Andy and Leigh and the future for the Longwarry FNC is a bright one . #gocrows21

15.01.2022 ***ATTENTION - EMERGENCY SPECIAL AGM*** WHEN - WEDNESDAY 9th December at the Clubrooms 7PM. After the success of 2019 and cancellation of 2020 , I can’t believe I have to post this. I thought everyone would be keen, how wrong I was.... We had our AGM tonight and 7 people showed up , one being a Life member who was there to chair the AGM. What really disappoints me is the assumption that those of us in the executive positions would continue on , no-one even showed interest to see what would happen or show support. My immediate thought is why should I give up my time if no one really cares. Running a club CANNOT be done by 6 people, it’s a small business now and YOUR club needs your help. This club needs those past players who have left , those supporters who love coming to the Club on a Saturday and those parents of up and coming players , to come on the 9th and BE INVOLVED. DO NOT SIT BACK AND WATCH TOO FEW DO TOO MUCH . This will burn those few out and will be lost to the club forever. As of now we are rudderless, although the current exec will do what’s needed to get us through the next weeks. It’s then up to you to help out and join in . We currently need President VP Treasurer and assistant Secretary and assistant Sponsorship manager and assistant Membership manager and assistant Assistant to Merchandise Manager Football Manager Trainers General committee members. THERE IS OTHER ROLES TO FILL AS WELL. No football experience needed , just enthusiastic people, all new members welcome. If no one shows up again , we are in trouble. Am I being melodramatic and over the top , possibly, but to say I was disappointed tonight was an understatement. Angry and peeved off was more the emotion. We are currently seeking an expression ...of interest for players for the upcoming season. Please Note: - Under 18.5s players born 1st July 2002 - 30th June 2004 - Under 16.5s players born 1st July 2004 - 30th June 2006 In preparation for the season we ask that you please complete the registration form attached, we need to have playing jumpers and shorts ordered by 1st of Feb, to have these ready for the first round, 10th of April. Troy has flown under the radar in previous years, but after a huge 2019 and a monster finals series this bloke has well and truly announced himself as a player to keep an eye on. 11.01.2022 Nathan Fry A leader of men will sacrifice any individual accolade for team and club success and that’s why this bloke is the captain of this club. On the field and at training he is raging bull that knows only one way to play the game and that’s full tilt. But it’s what he does off the field to make this team better. It goes unnoticed from outside the 4 walls of the club but internally so highly respected from the juniors all the way to the top. ... Individuals don’t last at this club and that is on the back the culture that this guy has helped shape. Every year he has taken and pushed for pay cuts and helped with fundraising to keep everyone of his teammates together he leaves no one behind. Danny Wells Wellsy might be one of the smallest blokes on the field but that will never stop him going back with the flight crashing the pack and taking the mark. If you’ve ever watched him play you will know why they call it wellsy’s wing arguably one of the best to play a wing in local footy. There’s plenty you could say about this bloke but he is a genuine star and his resume says it all. Wellsy is a massive asset to the team on and off field with his experience and knowledge and we couldn’t be more stoked to have him back in 2021 Ben Cuckson Cucka is longwarry through and through, he is a true icon of the club. With multiple awards under his belt including the 2017 best and fairest. Cucka is easily the most competitive footballer you will come across and no matter what position you put him in there is absolutely no doubt that one on one he will beat anyone. As most loyal fans would have seen he is a utility and can literally play any position which makes him a super important part of not only the team but the club. Can’t wait to see what he has to offer in 2021 after not being able to compete with anyone for a whole year!

Unky as he’s affectionately known is a strong bodied utility who has over 200 games of senior experience. He comes across from Bunyip where he had a consistent year playing ruck, forward and back. Playing his best footy down back where he has multiple team of the year knods, in the mpnfl, he has moved into the ruck in his latter years being a tough matchup in the hit outs and wh...en the ball hits the deck. A former senior coach he will bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the group and will be a huge support to our fresh coaching staff. We welcome duncan, his wife Emma and their two kids to the Longwarry Football Club
