24.01.2022 Stay cool, be prepared and don't put your bins out.

24.01.2022 Delighted to have received an Adelaide Hills Council community grant for a storage shed at the hall. Scott Creek Playgroup and Progress Association were also successful.

22.01.2022 The Fire Danger Season starts midnight tonight for our area, the Mount Lofty Ranges, as well as the Adelaide Metropolitan, Kangaroo Island, and Lower South East... districts. Are you prepared? Large fires have already been fought around the state this month. Don't leave your preparations too late. Visit www.cfs.sa.gov.au for more information on how to prepare your family, home, and property for the bushfire season, and for what you can and can't do during the Fire Danger Season.

22.01.2022 Congratulations Scott Creek Primary School for their contribution to the Stirling paegent. Great effort!

22.01.2022 New gutter and roof repairs going on this week. In heritage galv by the looks. Not sure if it's going to be painted or not.

21.01.2022 Only a week to go to the Spring Market at The Longwood Institute Hall Great day for a Sunday drive and get some of your Xmas shopping done

18.01.2022 So many lovely stalls coming up at the Spring Market. We'll be highlighting a few each day until the 15th. Katrina's beautiful children's goods are made from clay and wood and are designed to be both practical and ignite their imagination.

18.01.2022 Does anyone know a school that could use a harpsichord?

16.01.2022 So many wonderful stalls at the Longwood Institute today. Don't miss out. Open until 4.

15.01.2022 Grassfire in Ironback heading east towards Longwood and Red Hill Rd direction.

15.01.2022 Another of our talented stall holders this weekend is artist Zinia King whose locally and sustainably made and printed items feature her original artwork of Australian flora and fauna.

14.01.2022 The restoration work at Longwood Institute has FINALLY started (after a four month delay). Please feel free to post pictures if you are going past to keep us all updated with progress. I think their first task is to rebuild the cracked stonework around the front door.

13.01.2022 Getting ready to catch the bus again? Might be worth checking out the proposed changes to services to see how they affect you. Let us know what you think. I know people in Bridgewater and Littlehampton are quite worried.

13.01.2022 The repointing is looking great!

11.01.2022 Looking forward to the final stage of the Longwood Institute restorations starting this week - fixing the roof and gutters. Kevin Langmead painters have done a superb job inside, repairing and repainting the walls and even going above and beyond to cover up the unsightly black mark on the ceiling which we can't reach. Looking forward to welcoming everyone back for some kind of celebratory community event as soon as we can! Thanks to Peter Holderness for the picture.

11.01.2022 If you haven't tried yoga at the Longwood Hall you should! Look forward to seeing you there next year.

09.01.2022 The fire on Nicholls Road seems under control now. Excellent quick work from Bradbury CFS and all the other brigades quickly on scene and the fabulous water bombers. Scary how quickly these fires seem to be spotting even with very little wind on a mild day. The fuel is very dry so be careful with any activity which may cause sparks (angle grinding, slashing, driving through long grass or smoking bees)

09.01.2022 The stonemasons from Stoneideas Pty Ltd are doing a fabulous job repointing the Longwood Institute. The fine detailing is looking fantastic. Can't wait to see it all finished. So grateful for funding by HeritageSA.

08.01.2022 King proteas available at today’s market, just gorgeously

06.01.2022 Day 2: Making good progress with the repointing

03.01.2022 Looking forward to see what I can create from my unexpected weekend find. This antique Keeling & Co bowl is dated 1890 in the Stirling pattern. Luckily for me... it has a crack in it. Hopefully I'll be able to complete a few pieces in time for this weekend's Spring Market at The Longwood Institute Hall See more

03.01.2022 Have put a box of books on the verandah of the Longwood Hall as a temporary neighbourhood "Little Library". Please help yourself - but be careful to stay clear of any building works. After hours access should be fine. I'll renew the titles as we go but let me know if there are any authors or genres you are particularly keen on and I'll see what we've got.

02.01.2022 In line with Council guidelines, the Longwood Hall is currently closed for all events and activities. Please contact the yoga and art teahers directly for alterative arrangements. In the meantime the hall is undergoing much needed restoration works on the exterior stonework. We look forward to resuming all normal activities in safer times! Stay well everyone.

02.01.2022 Limited parking at the hall due to a very large fallen tree branch. We reported this branch to Council a few months back when it warned us it was unwell by dropping a couple of smaller ones. Perhaps they will come and do a more careful appraisal this time of the remaining overhanging branches. Just grateful this happened well after last night's yoga session. Some good chainsaw training coming up for the CFS next Monday and a supply of wood for winter fires in the hall.

01.01.2022 Not long now until our Spring Market! Sunday 15th November (next week) 10-4. Featuring upcycled clothes, jewellery and scrunchies from Ella at damagedesign clothing co.
