21.01.2022 Remote Access for People who are Self-Isolating People will be self-isolating or social distancing themselves during the Corona Virus outbreak. Those who are bl...ind and have low vision face increased challenges due to mobility issues, touching escalator handrails, using traffic light buttons, reaching for train door opening buttons and holding safely on to handrails on public transport. Furthermore, the instance of our client’s self-isolation may mean that DATA Australasia trainers and support people may not be able to visit with you as often as we would like. Remote Access We are living in the age of remote access. DATA Australasia can help you through using programs like Team Viewer, JAWS Tandem and by setting up a Zoom Cloud Meeting with you for your training sessions. There are also Apple Facetime and Facebook Messenger live video chat options available too. Team Viewer, Zoom and Facebook Messenger are all cross platform, this means we can help you whether you are on a PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad. The images below are screen grabs of a session we did on a mac computer from our own office in Melbourne assisting a client in her home in Auckland with JAWS and NVDA which both run under Windows. We have a Word document open, a web browser, a spreadsheet, using a JAWS configuration dialogue and are demonstrating the Settings screen in NVDA. It doesn’t matter where you are, around the corner, interstate or in another country. People need not miss out. For people on the Australian NDIS, this type of support is covered just as a support session would be if it were done in person. Call Elise on 0448 966 533 to book your session or to find out more.
