23.01.2022 Canberra's favourite coffee shop, Lonsdale Street Roasters, is now open at the Food Co-op! Here are some reasons to love our coffee: - We only serve fair trade and organic coffee beans. This is because we feel its important the coffee farmer gets paid a fair price for their product, and shouldn't have to become dependent on big chemical companies... - All of our milk is organic and comes from a dairy farm in Picton. This is because we care about the way the cows are treated, organic milk is healthier (with over 71% more Omega 3) and we disagree with subsidising milk a the farmer's expense. - We will give you soy milk at no extra charge - We serve our sugar in jars because we don't want to force you to waste paper for every spoonful you use - Our coffee is the tastiest coffee you'll find on this side of Northbourne Avenue, prepared by LSR baristas while they train up Co-op staff - You will be supporting the Food Co-op, a not-for-profit community organisation that provides people with access to healthy, ethically produced, affordable and environmentally mindful foods. This money will go towards continuing our grocery service and running $4 lunches, Acoustic Soup, and other great initiatives.
