25.01.2022 This week I have started reading Andre Agassi's autobiography "OPEN". I was a huge fan growing up and I am so disappointed to find out that he hates tennis! How sad is it to put so much effort, pain and emotions into a profession that you hate. Makes me realise how lucky I am to be doing work I love and working for clients who went into their business to do what they love.

21.01.2022 AS many of you know, it was a very hard decision after 10 years to decided to up and move the business (and family) from Canberra to the beautiful Sapphire Coast. And I have to say I am loving it. Beautiful sunshine streaming in my window. A walk along the beach planned for this afternoon. A huge phone chat with a Canberra Client who had the hide to say she wasn't missing me as all her work was still getting done. (Using Xero and ReceiptBank makes this so easy!!)

12.01.2022 The first ever Ronald McDonald House Canberra 5KM walk. Awesome weather, Awesome Event and an Awesome cause for the Look@yourBooks team to be involved with. Thank you to clients, accountants, family and friends that helped us to support the house. Hope to see many more of you next year walking round the lake.

10.01.2022 Congratulations to Kylee from TRC and Accountant David for their win. I am heading to Melbourne tomorrow but will arrange your first place surprise for early next week. Commiserations to Jo and Sally who's horse not only came last but is reported to have sustained an injury during the race. Jo - after winning the client sweep last year, things aren't so great. My horse came 5th this year which is the closest I have come to winning a sweep in a long time!!!

10.01.2022 Today I am working on a client who has been with me for 5 years - that is nearly half the time that I have been in business. I was looking through their folder at the notes I made when she first became a client, and the amount of streamlining that has been done to her accounts. The introduction of new technology - Xero, Bank Feds & Receipt Bank has drastically reduced the time and energy that both the business owner and myself spend on producing her BAS and accounts. Who would have thought when i started my degree that there would be a time when we could just take photos, send it to our programs and it would give us the information we need. Love this ever changing industry I am part of!

06.01.2022 Look@your Books once again supporting the Ronald McDonald House in Canberra. Ronald even commented that i wouldn't be able to walk round the lake with him in that outfit. (We have done a 5km walk with Ronald twice now!)
