To date our goal of paying the mortgage off in 5yrs has been pretty slow going .. so to finally see the numbers move substantially is a real win in our house!!. . We are not to fussed about the amount we pay off each month but more about how much we still owe ... 24.01.2022 One of my favourite motivators is seeing our interest PAID & CHARGED grow and fall. . Savings ... with all happening in our lives atm I am just happy to still be able to be getting some interest paid on our Savings sooo it’s not going up but still I am excited for what we got!. . We are currently working a plan to have a little bit of dividends paid to us each month ... I am still yet to find one that suits our portfolio that pays in AUGUST ... I am sure one will pop up so...on!. . FINALLY..our main focus is still the mortgage but once again has slowed down until the second house has sold .. I added our daily cost on the last slide showing is super slowly going but we are definitely getting there ... $20 a day is a day is still very significant . . One of my all time favourite meals is Pumpkin soup, when I was a kid, Dad used to have a huge vege patch and there was always an abundance of pumpkins in our house.. and still to this day it’s a fave!! Below is how we cook it... . - 1 whole Jap or butternut Pumpkin. - 3 onions. - Garlic cloves to your liking. - Small cooking cream. - 200mls Chicken stock - Little crushed ginger and a pinch of nutmeg. - Olive oil salt/pepper to taste. . Cut pumpkin into pieces, leave skin on .. peel onions and garlic halve and place all on a baking tray spray with olive oil, roast on 200deg for 30-40 mins .. let cool and remove the skin in the pumpkin .. place pumpkin, onions, garlic and stock into pot on low heat until cooked through .. 21.01.2022 Finally ... I know it is extremely late to be posting this one but I am getting there!! . . The final count for the 2020 #lamc12wksavingschallenge at the end of last yr was $13,190.90 ... $1,190.90 above target so I was pretty pleased with that!! The $$ went straight in to the Reno’s Account to help pay for the painting and plumbing that will happen over the coming weeks !. . 21.01.2022 8pm tonight couldn’t come quick enough .... over the last month we have SAVED every cent of both Red and my wages ... all living expenses were allocated in our sinking funds so we got my on the planned necessities only!. . Well it’s official... with lawyer costs car rego and bills all paid up over the last week ... we have $25.02 left in the spending account and the next set of direct debits are due on Friday so getting my pay in there tonight is critical haha nothing like l...iving on the smell of an oily rag!! I actually prefer it like this as it makes me be more mindful of my money!!. . 20.01.2022 One of my favourite motivators is seeing the numbers grow and fall. . key for us at the minute is growing our savings so seeing the interest rise makes me . . we are currently working a plan to have a little bit of dividends paid to us each month ... ATM its April that is top heavy so that hopefully will grow in the other months over the coming yrs ... no rush there!.... . the house loan has stayed steady with the interest charged ... which is where we wanna be right now . . Once the ex’s financial seperation goes through we will be able to smash the mortgage lowering the interest charged... savings will drop as we focus on the mortgage.... . 19.01.2022 One of my goals for the month has been a No Spend Month... I knew when I signed up that we had some things planned but I still wanted to do it anyways to at least slow the spending down... so above I have my handy dandy no spend tracker... keeps me motivated . . To date we have had 12 no spend days .. 5 Allocated spend days and 2 blow outs!! The blowouts were not too bad so I am not kicking myself yet but there is still a lot of month to cover!!. . 18.01.2022 Listed below is 3 quick and simple ways to start saving a couple of $$ a day on electricity it may not sound like much but those couple of $$ a day really adds up in over the course of the year ... and who wouldn’t love a $20 reduction on the electric bill!!. . Power points is a huge one in our house .. often 2/3 times a day I will scoot about the house switching them all off this includes all the ones in the kids rooms, the kettle, microwave and the one that powers our g...as stove!! Off is off and it only takes a few seconds to do!!. . it’s currently winter here in Aus and there is nothing better than a nice toasty house but if it not snowing where you are then we find snuggling up on the couch in our thickest socks and a blankie much nicer than running the reverse air conditioning... don’t get me wrong there is a few nights in the middle of winter it will be switched on but for the most part it’s a last resort!. . We do all of our washing in cold water ... it saves the machine heating it up and with all the fancy liquids out now there is no need to boil your clothes to get them clean . . Lastly I would just like to add call your provider and ask them if they have a cheaper deals? Most even do a cheeky lil discount for setting up a direct debt... a discount is a discount right?? . . It’s where I get to plan what is happening, where the weekly pays are going and ensure all our hard work is paying off!!. . We use the every dollar method which means everything dollar is allocated every dollar has a purpose and every dollar is working for us!! With the intention that one we won’t have to work for the dollar . . I love seeing others budgets and watching them... spread their money as far as they can, so here is our budget for this week!! JULY only has one ETF that pays (VAS) and we need to grow it ... baby steps!.... . I am not out to be making millions and I am not even sure that $3000 in dividends a month is realistic ... but gotta aim high to hit somewhere near it!! 02.01.2022 WEEK 8 $194.22 / $2,500. . I have said it a billion times before one of the easiest ways to save $$ is by transferring little bits as often as U can to a savings account away from your main bank! and that is what we are doing here!. . My personal goal at the moment is to save $2,500 so I can have some beautiful pink diamonds I own put into a ring finally I have picked them up about 8 yrs when I worked for a mine in Kakadu..and its time I pulled them out of the safe br...ushed off the dust and properly enjoyed them!!. . As this is MY goal I wanted to save for it from my personal spending money..the plan is to save $10 straight away out of it and transfer as much as I can in the week without leaving myself short! I still have a long way to go and it is feeling like it will take me years to save but it will be sooo worth it! . . 02.01.2022 One of my favourite motivators is seeing our interest PAID & CHARGED grow and fall. . Savings ... well this month is looking pretty spectacular in savings but ... it is FAKE We have pooled all the $$$ we could into this account so we could wait for it ... buy the Ex’s house ... cause it was the only choice we had ... more on that to come!. . This month we had 2 dividends pay up which is great slow and steady on that front!.... . FINALLY..our main focus was the mortgage but now that we have had to buy the second house next focus will be paying minimum on the mortgage and all will go in to renovations!! .. our daily cost on one mortgage is currently $23.40 but by the end of this month that will nearly doubled . . At the minute I can’t see our financially free life ever being ours!!
