25.01.2022 One step at a time, eventually becomes many steps, and even a life.

24.01.2022 Hello. Welcome to Looking for Vivre, a place for ponderation, ponderfication, ponderance... thinking, seeing, laughing, wondering.

24.01.2022 Interesting. When I look up I see grey. What the camera captures is blue. I think of clouds as complex structures with voluminous names. For some they are disappointing, for some frightening, for some a savior, and others the keepers of bunnies and dinosaurs and dolphins and smiley faces. They keep our world warm and bring what our plants, our food need to grow. They're pretty magic really.

22.01.2022 Christmas means many things. But to most of us there's one significant focus...the food. I once asked 50 people in the run up to Christmas what was their favourite Christmas food. The most unexpected was 'roast potatoes'. When I probed a little further it was more about the way his mother prepared them and his memories of her than the food. What's your favourite food at this time of year?

22.01.2022 I wonder if spider webs on misty days inspired jewelers to find baubles to match the beauty?

21.01.2022 Life turns on a dime they say. Life can change in an instant. You never know what's round the corner. So many things people say in a passing conversation. My part in the conversation became years of reality. Enough to write a book. If you feel like riding life's roller coaster with me, please take a look at "Just Take Another Step", by MD Oakwood on Booktopia Australia and Amazon books. I also have a website for Looking for Vivre with more thoughts to ponder. @lookingforvivre.com

20.01.2022 Ever get that feeling its always up, up, uphill? Looking for the light at the end, when it can turn around and go down for a change. Keep walking. One step at a time.

19.01.2022 Sometimes nature gives you its own styling. Cool colours. Fine lines. And a piece of interest to draw your eye. The sand is in your toes and a fresh breeze in your face. Gentle moments. #beaches #nature

19.01.2022 No matter what happens in life there's so much satisfaction in producing your own food. Even if its once a year and a single tray full of mangoes.

18.01.2022 Let's start by pondering the Frangipani. About to burst back into life after hiding away from the cold winter nights. They are a beautiful sight to behold.

17.01.2022 They say if you love photography you should be able to find something to photograph in your own backyard. So here is one of my anthurium, anthuria???( Who would know the plural of that?) Wax like and with its distinctive heart shape, the strange magic of plants always offers something to ponder.

16.01.2022 So often in the face of great time and endurance we seek to be remembered. Yet one day the bark will subsume the memory and push on with life. How would you like to be remembered?

14.01.2022 This strange everyday thing fascinates me. Can you pick what it is?

13.01.2022 So thankful for even one cloud on yet another 32+ day . #heatwave2017 #queenslandsummer

13.01.2022 hope rising #ballooning #freedom #hope

12.01.2022 There's a couple of things about toes I've learned over the years. Firstly, they're very strange looking things. And secondly that when you stubb your toe you can't just acknowledge the pain. Have you noticed that you always get ridiculously angry at the toe for being so stupid to be there in the first place? Strange things our bodies.

11.01.2022 Interesting. Mine is affirmations then acts of service. My husband's was acts of service. Never did enough of those. Whats yours? You can find out at this website. Interesting stuff.

11.01.2022 Every year my sister gives me an astological calendar. It is a work of art in itself. She also adds a blessing, which I review each year. This year it was: lightness of heart, happiness of face, joy of life and love of family and friends. So... in review... the family love is easy, I always have that, so lucky. The friends - nurtured new and old, fine company, good conversation. I think I managed to show happiness of face even though the odds weren't stacked my way. My heart got so light I had to have a cardioversion! And the other part of the blessing? Well I started a thing... Looking for Vivre... looking to live. I hope this brings more joy of life to us all.

10.01.2022 In families we tell stories and either follow or make new traditions. The purple petunia fairy featured in my little family. She protected us from bad things and offered friendship. I hope your family has a special tradition, no matter how simple.

10.01.2022 Life's like that, the phrase goes. But what happens if you don't like "that". I reckon there should be an optional version button.

09.01.2022 I may be old. I may be bent from the winds of life. I can't help that. You, however can decide how you see me.

08.01.2022 This is such a lovely site giving people the opportunity to feel there is someone else at a time when you feel most alone. I lost my husband suddenly nearly 6 years ago. The best way I could stop the pain was to write our story with all the love and laughs and shocks of the times. In case anyone is interested in travelling along beside my experiences you can find Just Take Another Step on Amazon books or Booktopia Australia. I hope it is of help.

07.01.2022 Very excited to tell everyone that we have launched a website of the same name for your reading pleasure. You can find us at: https://lookingforvivre.com/ Jump on and check it out to watch it grow with stories, blogs, a book to buy and some poetry on the way.

06.01.2022 Life's doors. They are always ajar awaiting your next step.

06.01.2022 32 years ago I saw this magnificent place. Pictures of rain and falls brings me memories. Nature's power, water's power, chance to refresh. #Victoriafalls #Africa #nature #photography

05.01.2022 As 2017 darkens and fades into the night sky we reflect and we invoke hope. We seek the glimmer of new ideas, the hope of connection and respect, the belief in a new start and a new chance. We will be strong. We will be loved. We will take life's chances, walking tall and straight into the night sky. The sky which reveals yet a new day with as many possibilities as the last in a perpetual loop. Bring it on life. We're not done yet.

05.01.2022 Have you been to a festival where a piano sits in a wooded encirclement and a lilting melody is played to the passers by. Beautiful things.

04.01.2022 Delicacy. Immediacy. Transience. The touch of a wing as soft as silken air. I love those things that flutter by.

03.01.2022 The thing about spring is the hope and anticipation. From dry, harsh times comes the possibility of fresh, clean newness. We hope for a new start, a different year. We hope to emerge into something better.

03.01.2022 We've had the chance to think about water this last 2 weeks. Its rained for the first time in months. People's reactions are always diverse. I love water. I've watched ocean waves relentlessly encroach and fade all my life. The feeling of floating, or swirling in a spa. The sound on the roof. The rush of a flowing creek. Water is an experience.

02.01.2022 Time to heal. Time to dream. Time weathers. Time colours. Lives that dip and drift, shift and drive. Lives lived.

02.01.2022 As sure as moon rise, loving others, whomever they are, family, friends, the neighbour or the dog, gives us wealth and health in our spirits.

01.01.2022 I have cookie monsters visit me. Even get special orders. Do you have special memories about biscuits?

01.01.2022 This time of year everyone's getting their hair done. Do you have a favourite thing about going to the hairdresser?
