04.01.2022 LINDSAY RIDINGS: Let's get to know our 2019 Cairns Amateurs judges a little better Lindsay Ridings is a Brisbane-based racing fashion ambassador and designer... who discovered the world of racing fashion many years ago, but started competing in 2014 as a creative outlet to her corporate career in resources. Lindsay has since won several accolades nationally including the coveted VRC Myer FOTF Kennedy Oaks Day Winner at Flemington in 2018. She enjoys being an ambassador for local artists and milliners and loves being fully immersed in the wonderful world of racing haute couture, frequently sourcing, designing and hand-making her own creations in support of the slow fashion movement. Lindsay believes racing fashion to be a very specialised fashion cohort, with Australian Racing Fashion a leader on the world stage, that affords participants the opportunity to courageously showcase their personal style and personality within the context of a tradition spanning centuries. Her style philosophy embraces her love of classic design and craftsmanship, together with her adoration of the iconic. She strives for a balance between ladylike and unique cutting edge when bringing a vision to life and has a deep appreciation for the creative process.

01.01.2022 We are excited to announce that we have two new judges for this year’s Cairns Amateurs' Cairns Central Fashions on the Field. Please join us in welcoming Lind...say Ridings (Brisbane-based racing fashion ambassador and designer) and Em Scodellaro (seasoned Fashions on the Field competitor and creator of the popular Instagram page, It's All About The Sash). Lindsay and Emma are two of Australia’s most awarded Fashions on the Field competitors and we are delighted they can be with us this year to help judge this year’s hotly contested titles! This year’s FOTF competition comprises seven categories across two days, on Friday 13 September and Saturday 14 September, and will see local and interstate competitors vie for winning titles and an impressive prize pool valued at approximately $15,000. So ladies, get planning as our judges will be looking at style and originality, interpretation of latest trends, appropriateness of racewear for a spring carnival in Cairns, attention to detail, style, design and quality of workmanship of millinery, and of course grooming and deportment.
