19.01.2022 This is one reason why you should always Dial Before You Dig Vic/Tas
17.01.2022 Welcome! Look-up + Live is an initiative conceived by two accredited Safety Spotter services in Victoria concerned by the apparent limited knowledge of regulations & best practices when working around electrical hazards in the open on worksites around the state. Its not intended to replace guidelines & directives from official regulators & authorities, rather its an additional information channel and means of communication & discuss those. Anyone with an interest in Occupat...ional Health and Safety around power-lines is welcome to post here on this FB page and/or register and and participate in the website forum. That includes spotters, regulators, OH&S managers and their clients/ potential clients. Dont be afraid to ask questions or participate if you have something to contribute by way of your own experiences, anecdotes or knowledge. Ask questions if you have doubts or questions. Hopefully someone can provide the answer(s) or point you in the right direction.

06.01.2022 A follow up story to a tragic interstate incident last month that caused one death plus a serious injury. The 54-year-old crane driver was charged with disqualified driving after it was discovered that he was not the holder of a valid drivers licence when the incident took place. He will front the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 10. Workplace Health and Safety is investigating. https://look-up.live//crane-driver-charged-over-death-se/
04.01.2022 You wouldnt expect any spotters in place here. Its simply a police chase that ended with a crash into a pole with HV lines and transformer equipment dangling precariously overhead. But it does highlight a lack of training and IMHO it could have been much better handled by the police. Certainly keep the guns pointed at the vehicle and get the suspect to back out in order to apprehend him, but immediately get everything cleared away about 50m from the scene. That pole and all those overhead lines etc look like they could topple over at any second. Thankfully that didnt happen but there should be no approach until isolated by the power company. The full 745" video (including the end of the chase) can be seen here: https://youtu.be/DuJ1B4s4fnM
