24.01.2022 The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about some of the most significant policy reforms in housing and homelessness in the last 50 years; the rapid rehousing of rough sleepers, doubling of the JobSeeker payment and introduction of the JobKeeper payment. Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) is committed to ensuring housing and homelessness issues continue to receive funding and that vulnerable Australians remain housed, post-pandemic. CHPs Everybody's Home (https://everybodyshome.com.au/) campaign, with support of the Foundation, will continue to raise public awareness and increase sector engagement with state and federal governments including advocacy for 500,000 new social and affordable homes as part of the post-pandemic stimulus package. 16.01.2022 Collingwood Yards was set to open its doors earlier this year as a new community arts hub on the site of the former Collingwood TAFE. This builds on earlier support that the Foundation provided to Contemporary Arts Precincts to offer affordable and secure tenancies for emerging artists to develop and nurture their craft, collaborate with other artists, and showcase their work (see video below).
