08.01.2022 We wil be posting regular helpful hints to help you clean when those day to day mishaps that can occur to your carpets. Our first post is for basic stain removal. Basic Tips... 1. Attend to spill promptly 2. Scrape or blot up excess 3. Work from the outside back into the centre of the stain to avoid spreading it 4. Dilute with cold water (small cup at a time) and soak up excess with paper towels, toilet paper or towel 5. Keep doing this for as long as you are getting any colour out 6. Once all colour removed, use warm water (again a small cup) and just a few drops of detergent solution and using fingers to massage in (don’t scrub) 7. Use another small cup of cold water to flush 8. Again, soak up excess with paper towel, toilet paper or towel 9. Repeat for as long as you are achieving a positive result. In most cases this is all you will need to remove most fresh stains 10. Don't over wet 11. Finally, use fingers to fluff up the carpet 12. Don’t use bleach as this will permanently remove the colour and damage your carpet 13. Careful as some store purchased cleaners can set the stain into your carpet Hope this helps, but the trick is always get onto spills or mishaps as soon as possible.
